File list of encroachers within 2 weeks: DB

JAMMU, Feb 7: In a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) regarding encroachments on the banks of River Tawi, Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Tashi Rabstan today granted two weeks time to the Divisional Commissioner and Deputy Commis-sioner Jammu for filing list of encroachers.
When the matter came up for hearing, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu as well as Deputy Commis-sioner, Jammu, who were present in the court, sought time to file status report regarding encroa-chers identified by the multi-department committee.
Upon this, Division Bench granted two weeks time and directed the Registry to list this PIL on February 20. The DB also directed them to take steps for removal of encroachments.
