JAMMU, Feb 22: Division Bench of State High Court comprising Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Alok Aradhe today directed Commissioner Secretary, Social Welfare Department to file fresh status report regarding implementation of August 24, 2012 order whereby State was directed to set-up committee at division and district level to scrutinize social status certificates of reserved category.
The direction was issued in a PIL filed by Mohammad Anwar Choudhary, ex-member of State Advisory Board for the Development of Gujjar and Bakerwal against alleged fake ST category certificates.
After hearing Advocate SM Choudhary appearing for the petitioner whereas Deputy AG Vishal Bharti appearing for the State, the DB granted week’s time for filing fresh status report with the direction that in case of non-compliance the Commissioner Secretary Social Welfare Department shall appear in person.
