File compliance report on reinstatement of former CEO: HC

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Feb 14: In a contempt petition filed by Tarsem Lal, the then CEO Jammu whose premature retirement order was quashed by the High Court, Justice Alok Radhe today issued notice to Commissioner/ Secretary General Administr-ation Department with the direction to file compliance report before the next date of hearing.
When the contempt petition came up for hearing, it was submitted that High Court had directed the respondents/contemnors to reinstate the petitioner and award him all the consequential benefits within a period of one month from the date of the passing of the order. Though the petitioner served the order on all the respondents for information and necessary action yet they failed to implement the directions in total contempt of the order dated 21/12/2016.
“The conduct of the respondents is contemptuous and this sort of disobedience is apparently calculated to defeat the court order in its own terms and is quite obnoxious, least expected of highly placed responsible officers”, the petitioner submitted. After hearing the counsel for the petitioner, the High Court issued notice to Commissioner/ Secretary GAD with the direction to file compliance report before the next date of hearing.
