Feroz Khan for early resolution of Kargil students’ issues

SRINAGAR, Oct 17: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC Kargil, Feroz Ahmed Khan today held a meeting with the Vice Chancellor University of Kashmir, Prof. Talat Ahmed here to discuss the long pending demands of the students of Government Degree College, Kargil.
The Controller of Exami-nation, Kashmir University, Prof. Farooq Ahmed Mir and other officials of the University were also present in the meeting.
The CEC discussed several important issues related to students of Degree College Kargil which includes the conduct of examinations and declaration of results. He urged upon VC Kashmir University to rationalize the academic schedule of the students of Kargil district. The CEC also asked the VC to ensure that the precious time of students is not wasted due to delay in examinations and declaration of results.
The VC Prof. Talat Ahmed gave a patient hearing to the demands put forth by the CEC and assured for its early redressal. He agreed on the demands of the CEC to have a separate academic calendar for the students of Kargil district. He also assured that in future all the issues related to examinations and declaration of results of students of Kargil will be done at Kashmir University Campus Kargil.
During the meeting, the VC directed the Controller of Examination, Kashmir University to visit Kargil on October 23. The VC further assured the CEC that he would schedule a visit to Kargil on November 3 to discuss and settle all outstanding problems relating to the students.
It is pertinent to mention here that a delegation of students of Government Degree College Kargil calls upon the CEC at council secretariat last week. The students’ delegation requested the CEC to intervene in the matter and problems being faced by them including early conduction of examination and declaration of results thereof on time. The CEC took note of the concern of the students and assured to take up the matter with Kashmir University and other concerned authorities at earliest possible.
