Female multipurpose workers stage protest

JAMMU, Aug 16: The Female Multipurpose Health Workers (FMPHWs) working under Family Welfare today staged a dharna in the Shashi Bala Memorial Park in the premises of Directorate of Health Services (DHS), Jammu under the banner of Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF).
Speaking on the occasion, president of the FMPHW’s Association, Neelam Kumari, warned the authorities to release the pending salary of FMPHWs under Major Head -2211 and if the issue is not resolved/considered immediately, they will stop working in various central schemes including Measles Rubeela (MR) that will be starting on 01-09-2018.

While speaking on the occasion, Sushil Sudan, president of JKMEF, criticized the Government for not coming out with a permanent solution of the salary of FMPHWs working under 2211 Head. He said these multipurpose workers are now without salary for last more than five months.
“We had met BB Vyas, Advisor to Governor, and he had assured that the issue of the salary will be solved but till date nothing has been done. The Federation has again requested the authorities to take immediate steps failing which future course of action will be announced on August 21”, he said and announced that a big rally will be taken from Government Hospital Gandhinagar, Jammu to Divisional Commissioner Office, Jammu  on August 21.
Prominent among others who attend the protest were Surya Akhter, Sapna Gupta (general secretary),  Kamla Devi, Soma Devi, Pushpa Devi, Swaran Kour, Rani Devi, Urmil Devi and Mamta Devi.
