Female Multipurpose Health Workers to proceed to Kashmir tomorrow

JAMMU, Oct 22: Female Multipurpose Health Workers across Jammu province will proceed to Kashmir on October 24 to gherao the Civil Secretariat.
This was disclosed today by Neelam Kumari, president, FMPHWs’ Welfare Association, Jammu while addressing a press conference at Press Club, Jammu. She was accompanied by other leaders of the Association.
Neelam said that they are sitting on strike for last 57 days in the office premises of Directorate of Health Services, Jammu and also in other district headquarters viz. Ponch, Rajouri, Kathua, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Reasi, Udhampur and Sambam in support of their demands which include permanent solution of salary head 2211, delinking the CSS salary from the funding sources (Corpus-delinking), fixation of job functions of FMPHWs at par with other working categories of Health Sector, etc.
She said on October 20, Director Health Services, Jammu and Director, Family Welfare, J&K, invited the leaders of the FMPHWA and JKMEF but the meeting remained unfruitful as none of the directors assured them on their demands.
The FMPHWA president said that the association has decided to proceed to Kashmir on the call of JKMEF to gherao the Civil Secretariat so that the Administration wake up from its deep slumber.
