JAMMU, Jan 29: Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) Department has started distribution of ration to the people after the private ration dealers failed to act as per the terms and conditions of the department.
The department has started distribution of ration covering Janipur locality in first phase, which continued till 9:30 pm today, an official spokesman said.
He added that the process will continue at the same spot tomorrow also to cover the remaining population.
He informed that the department is distributing three months ration from December to February in one go.
Despite being Sunday today, the officers and officials of the department have shown their dedication to overcome the harassment being faced by the public during the ongoing winter season, he stated.
It is pertinent to mention that the private ration dealers failed to adhere to the notice issued to them by the department to lift the ration, sugar, etc from food stores and the department itself started distribution of ration to the general masses by making alternate arrangements.
