RAMBAN, June 22: Police arrested an employee of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department along with 11 quintals of sugar.
As per police sources, on specific information, a police team conducted raid in a private shop at Karool and seized 11 quintals of sugar, which was meant for public distribution by FCS&CA Department and illegally dumped in the shop.
Police also arrested an employee of the FCS&CA Department namely Abdul Qayoom in this regard. The team also conducted raid in Government ration depot at Ramban and seized the record.
A case under FIR Number 78/17 under Section 3/7 Essential Commodities Act has been registered at Ramban police station and investigation started.
Police team led by DySP Headquarters Ramban Imtiyaz Ahmed and assisted by SHO Ramban Inspector Rajeshwar Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SSP Ramban Mohan Lal.
