KATHUA, Sept 11: The Jammu and Kashmir Kissan Tehreek took out a protest rally here, today which  started from Ram Lila Ground Kathua and passed through various parts of the city to DC Office Kathua.

The farmers in large number drawn from various parts of the Kathua district were raising the slogans in favour of their demands and implementation of Swami Nathan reports. The farmer led by its provisional president Banarsi Dass raise strong protest in front of DC Office Kathua. They submited a memorandum to DC Kathua in support of their demands which included the implementation of Swami Nathan reports as promised by ruling Government. Opening of Paddy procurement centers in village level, credit cards to every farmers, Rs 5000 monthly pension to poor farmers, irrigation facility in Kandi belt and Pahari areas, ensure crops insurance and farmers insurance, waive off electricity bills of pump sets.
The district president of JKKT  Dewan Ram highlighted the various issues and demands  of farmers and alleged that the Government left them on the mercy of private looters . The farmers and common man are badly suffering due to the same while the leaders are enjoying.
