Fake Govt documents, identity cards of security forces recovered; one held

Srinagar, Nov 9: Police today said it have arrested a fraudster and recovered fake Government documents including identity cards of security agencies and fake licenses.
A police spokesman said that acting on a specific information, a surprise checkpoint was laid by cops at Nigeen area here and one person namely Ghulam Jeelani, a resident of Shaheed Gunj, was arrested.
“On his checking, few fake driving licenses were recovered. The accused was arrested and investigation was set into motion,” the spokesman said, adding that on questioning, the accused revealed that he is running a shop near Civil Secretariat here.
The shop was raided and various fake licenses, fake vehicle insurance, fake shop licenses,  forged security forces identity cards,  mobile phones, computers and other incriminating material was recovered and seized from the spot, he said.
On further questioning, said the spokesman, it was revealed that he is running this racket of fake government documents from last 2-3 years.  “He used to provide fake driving license at a cost of Rs. 1500 and used to similarly charge for other forged documents as well. Many fake identity cards of various security forces like CRPF, police, Army were also recovered from his possession,” he said.
