Extension lectures organized at GDC R S Pura

JAMMU, Nov 2: Department of Botany & Zoology of Government Degree College, R S  Pura organized an extension lectures under the ‘series of lectures’ in which Dr  Rajinder Sharma from the  Department of Botany, GCW Gandhi Nagar, Jammu and  Prof  Nargis Nelofar, Department of Zoology GCW Parade, Jammu, were the resource persons.
Dr  Rajinder Sharma discussed in detail about ‘Plant  Biotechnology  vis-à-vis  the food security of India ‘  while  Prof  Nargis Nelofar  dealt in detail about the topic ‘The  Classification and Types of Bacteria’.
In addition to the lectures, students had prepared posters on the theme Biotechnology – History & Prospectus.  These posters were evaluated by Dr Rajinder Sharma and three best posters were selected. The poster belonging to Kamini Sharma and Anamika Sharma, Gunjan and Sindu, Vaishali Choudhary and Amandeep were adjusted first second and third, respectively.
In addition to this, a PPT (film) on the topic ‘Plant Biotechnology vis-à-vis the food security of India’ was prepared by the Department of Botany and displayed to the students.
