Excise team destroys working still, 850 kgs of lahan

KATHUA, Aug 5: In order to curb the menace of illicit distillation of liquor,  the Excise Department Kathua has  destroyed one working still and more than 850 kgs of lahan, raw material for illicit liquor, which is highly hazardous and injurious for health.
The Excise team of Kathua which conducted raids in the areas of Chakdrabkhan and Chibbachak areas of Kathua district recovered the working still and 850 kgs of lahan and later destroyed it on spot.
The raids were conducted on the directions of the Excise Commissioner, Mohd. Javed Khan and supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Syed Muried Hussain Shah, by  the Excise Team Kathua led by ETO Excise Range Kathua, Sandeep Gupta, Inspectors Excise, Arun Kumar & Shadi Lal along with Excise staff to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor.
