KATHUA, Nov 6: The Excise sleuths of Kathua district during the raids in different villages of the district today destroyed 1450 kgs of Lahan and 25 liters of illicit liquor.
The Excise sleuths team from district Kathua led by ETO Excise Range Kathua, Vikas Anand and inspectors of Excise Department ,Arun Kumar, Sanjay Khajuria along with excise staff raided the villages of Sumwan, Mirpur Jaggu, Kangdyal, Padyari, Sunjwan, Birsochak and Ladhuchak areas of Kathua district to arrest the menace of illicit of liquor.
In the process one working still, more than 1450 kgs of Lahan and 25 liters if illicit liquor which is highly hazardous and injurious for health was recovered by the raiding team from State land and later destroyed on spot.
The raid was carried on the directives of Excise Commissi-oner Mohammed Javed Khan and Deputy Excise Commis-sioner, Executive Jammu, Syed Muried Hussain Shah.
