JAMMU, Jan 14: The Excise Department Jammu has tightened its noose on violators of the J&K Excise Act, as its sleuths conducted raids in Kathua and destroyed 1550 Kgs of Lahan, 80 pouches and 10 bottles of illicit liquor today.
The raid was conducted under the active supervision of the Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Ghanshyam Singh, the Excise Team Kathua led by ETO Excise Range Kathua, Sandeep Gupta, ETO Eradication Wing Jammu, Dr.Suraj Chander Singh & ETO Distilleries, Sahil Bagotra. They were assisted by Inspectors Arun Kumar & Shadi Lal, Sub Inspector Prashant Mathur. They raided the Chakdrab Khan, Chabbe Chak & Perso Chak, Banyari & Sakta Chak areas of Kathua district to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor.
In the process more than 1550 kilograms of Lahan and 80 pouches,10 bottles of illicit liquor recovered and later destroyed by the team on spot.
