KATHUA, Dec 4: In order to curb the menace of illicit distillation of liquor, the Excise sleuths during their raid have destroyed 1300 kgs of lahan, the raw material of illicit liquor which is highly injuries to health.
The raid was conducted under the provisions of J&K Excise Act in the villages of Banyari, Chibba Chak, Sunjwan, Ladu Chak & Sakta Chak areas of Kathua district.
The raiding team was led by ETO Excise Range Kathua, Vikas Anand, Inspectors Excise, Sanjeev Khajuria & Arun Kumar along with Excise guards Rajinder Singh, Om Dutt & Mahinder Kumar on the directions of the Excise Commissioner, Mohd. Javed Khan and under the supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner, (Executive), Jammu, Syed Muried Hussain Shah.
In the process more than 1300 kgs of lahan, raw material of illicit liquor, which is highly hazardous and injurious for health was recovered by the raiding team from State land & later destroyed on spot.
