JAMMU, Jan 27: In order to curb the menace of illicit distillation of liquor, the sleuths of Excise Department conducted raids in various areas of district Kathua and destroyed 1550 kilograms of lahan, 30 bottles and 30 pouches of illicit liquor.
As per official spokesperson, under the supervision of the Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Ghanshyam Singh, the Excise Team Kathua led by ETO Excise Range Kathua, Sandeep Gupta, Inspectors Excise, Arun Kumar and Shadi Lal, Sub Inspector (SI) Madan Singh and assisted by Eradication Jammu Wing led by ETO Dr Suraj Chander and Sub-Inspector (SI) Prashant Mathur conducted raids in Mahi Chak, Barnoti and Chhiba Chak areas of Kathua district.
The team destroyed 1550 kilograms of lahan, 30 bottles and 30 pouches of illicit liquor during the raids.
