Ex-Servicemen Society holds camp for differently abled

JAMMU, Feb 10: All J&K Ex-Servicemen Welfare Society organized a one day camp for the differently abled persons at Akhnoor in collaboration with J&K Disabled Association.
A check up team of five members came from ALMCO Kanpur and after proper check up the various instruments and machines like wheel chairs, tricycles, hearing aids, artificial legs, arms and clutches etc will be distributed among them in another organized camp later on. The instruments and machines will be provided by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Government of India.
The Camp was inaugurated by Kuldeep Sharma, Executive Member of Central Social Welfare Board (Government of India). In his address Sharma apprised the gathering of the various welfare schemes of Government of India.
He said the Society will also organise such camps in border areas for the welfare and betterment of differently abled persons so that they can earn their livelihood easily.
He also demanded enhancement of pension for differently abled persons from Rs 400 to Rs 1000.
Sushil Sharma president J&K Disabled Association, Prof M Sultan, Anita Chandpuri, Arun Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Shanu, Sanjeev Sharma and Bunty Raina also spoke on the occasion.
