MENDHAR, Sept 15 : As part of celebration of the declaration of the year 2012 as ‘Year of Veterans’ a ex-servicemen rally was organised under the aegis of Romeo Force, by 37 RR in Mendhar to reach out to the veterans especially in remote/rural areas of Mendhar.
The enthusiasm shown by the veterans for such initiative could be well appreciated by huge attendance from various parts of Mendhar suburb. The veterans looked forward for another opportunity to have such interaction.
During the rally, various info kiosks were established viz. ECHS, Health check-up, Bank, Army Postal Service, Grievances & Recruitment cell which addressed the problems faced by ESM in getting the facilities they are entitled for. Health check-up camp was also organised to screen for lifestyle diseases. During the rally, SBI Mendhar also participated and addressed the problems faced by ESM in drawing pension and agreed to set up a separate counter for ESM at Mendhar Branch.
The mega event was attended by approx 100 ESM from all parts of Mendhar & surrounding areas. They gained a lot from the event and also got an opportunity to redressal of all their problems under one roof.
