Ex-servicemen rally held

RAJOURI, Sept 27: An Ex-servicemen rally was organized here today by J&K Ex-Services League.
During the rally, which was attended by hundreds of Ex-servicemen and Veer Naris, Brig Rajesh Srivastava (Station Commander and Shahid Iqbal Choudhary (DC Rajouri) listened to the grievances of Ex-servicemen.
The Station Commander accepted most of the demands of the Ex-Servicemen which include priority to the old and weak Ex-servicemen and their dependents for OPDs, location of ECHS in the premises of the Military Hospital, building a shed for the patients at ECHS Rajouri and making available Nursing Assistant and a Gynecologist to fill the vacancies.
The DC declared that Ex-servicemen meeting at tehsil and district Level will be held every month for disposal of land cases and issuance of gun licenses. He also said that vehicles and ambulance will be available for ECHS patients.
Meanwhile, a decision was taken to build an Ex-servicemen Community Hall in Nowshera in the memory of Captain Sunder Singh, first Ashoka Chakra of J&K State awarded in 1956 for Hussainawala action against Pakistan.
