Ex-Minister Harbans Singh bereaved

JAMMU, Apr 23: S. Sohan Singh, elder brother of former minister and senior National Conference leader, S Harbans Singh passed away at his Chatha residence, here this morning.
Family sources said that Sohan Singh (83 yrs) was ailing for the last about one month. He breathed his last at his residence. He is survived by two sons and six daughters and grand children. He was a noted transporter.
The cremation took place at Chatha Cremation Ground and a large number of people from all walks of life, specially from NC, Congress and BJP participated in his funeral.
Meanwhile, National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah and party working president Omar Abdullah have  expressed  grief over the passing away of S. Sohan Singh, elder brother of the former minister and senior party leader S Harbans Singh.
Conveying their condolences to the bereaved family, Dr Farooq and Omar prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Provincial President Devender Singh Rana has also expressed profound grief over the demise of S Sohan Singh and conveyed condolences to the bereaved family. Senior National Conference leaders including former ministers SS Slathia, Ajay Sadhotra, Mushtaq Bukhari   and legislators have condoled the demise of S. Sohan Singh and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
J&K Assembly Speaker, Kavinder Gupta, MLCs, Charanjeet Singh Khalsa, Vikram  Randhawa, former minister Raman  Bhalla also attended the funeral procession of late Sohan Singh.
