Sir,
This has reference to an article in one of the columns of this newspaper and that had a very tremendous effect on my thought process. That article opened with the lines of an old maxim,”If you educate a man you educate an individual but if you educate a woman you educate a whole family.” The whole article revolved around this old saying and the writer seemed to be not in support of this old saying , in this present scenario. She had turned the tables by giving a very revolutionary and applicable interpretation for promotion of woman education that,”Education of a women should not be related to her gender in any way.A woman should be educated not because she is going to carry the responsibility of a family in future , but she should be educated , for being a human being first than anything else.Being a human being first ,education is her right, a fundamental right.
Swami Vivekananda said,”Education is the manifestation of perfection already in an individual”. So, let us not degrade the essence of such a pious and elegant institution,”the education”, which helps an individual to meet with his or her ownself (self awareness ).It should not be overburdened in any way with getting the financial stability, without denying the fact which is also important but the real essence of education lies in giving our daughters not only daughters but each and every individual here on this earth the wings powered with eternal fuel of education to fly as high as they aspire….. to make the crux of the education a ground reality. ……
