ESRM presents Vijay Malla’s nukkad ‘Azadi Adhuri Hai’

JAMMU, Feb 20: Ek Sath Rang Mandal (ESRM) today presented Vijay Malla’s nukkad “Azadi Adhuri Hai” under its Monday Theatre series at a slum near Paloura link road, Janipur.
The nukkad opens with a young man who appears in the scene. “In our country even after 70 years of independence every citizen does not enjoy impendence,” the young man, who has come to city with his problems, questions. He says that people particularly those living in remote and far flung areas should not be deprived of their rights.
He adds that nobody should seize their rights of water, forest and earth (zameen). He questions the system that why agriculture land of the people is taken away on the name of development. What kind of development is this which will make a common man handicap?
The young man says that after independence rich people groomed their children with education from English medium schools with western culture which destroyed our culture in every respect and now the children even cannot speak their mother tongue.
“On one hand people are adopting latest technology of Google, Twitter and Face book (social media) and on the other hand we are still adopting traditional system for solving over problems”, he says, adding, he is proud to say that in all villages and remote areas people have love and respect for their traditions culture and mother tongue.
Actors who performed were Raju Mad, Anuroop Pathania, Mohit, Prabel Sharma, Vicky and Vijay Malla. The play was written and directed by Vijay Malla and assisted by Anuroop Pathania.
