Er M M Gupta elected president of PECOSA, J&K Chapter

JAMMU, Sept 2: Er M M Gupta, presently Chief Engineer SMVDSB, has been elected as president of Punjab Engineering College Old Students Association (PECOSA), J&K Chaper.
He was elected president alongwith a team of office bearers and members of executive committee.
The elections were held under the supervision of central team comprising of Er K K Vohra (president) accompanied by Er Sanjeev Moudgil and Col Sanjeev Koul (members of central executive committee).
The gathering of Pecosians was blessed by the presence of veteran Pecosians viz Er M K Wazir, Er B L Suri, Er V N Sharma, Er J L Zutshi, Er K K Puri and Colonel K K Dogra, who were honoured by the newly elected body.
The PECOSA J & K Chapter shall have around 90 members of various batches who have passed out from Punjab Engineering College Chandigarh and are now residents of J&K.
President of the PECOSA, Er K K Vohra, while addressing the gathering, threw light on the aims and objectives of PECOSA and responsibilities of the Chapter in the furtherance of the aims and objectives of PECOSA. He informed that at the Global Alumni Meet held in Feb 2017, Er Monte Ahuja and Er M S Kalsi, alumni of the 1967 batch, now settled in the USA , pledged a support of Rs 10 crore to the institute for upgrading the labs of the institute.
Er Kishore and Er Anil enthralled the audience with their musical performance.
Pertinent to mention that PECOSA is the Alumni Association of the premier institution of the country, Punjab Engineering College ( Deemed to be University) Chandigarh.
The old students of the Punjab Engineering College Chandigarh have been occupying very high posts in the Government of India, State Governments, Armed forces, etc. Around 15000 alumni of the Punjab Engineering College are settled in various parts of the world.
Efforts are being made in the different states and NCR to establish their respective PECOSA chapters. J&K Pecosians have taken the lead and established first chapter of PECOSA.
