Ensure speedy disposal of old cases: Justice Magrey

ANANTNAG, Mar 4: Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey of J&K High Court and Administrative Judge South Kashmir today inspected District Court Anantnag and Sub-Judge Court Bijbehara during which he was apprised about damage of infrastructure and loss of library books due to September 2014 deluge.
He was requested by the concerned to provide alternate Government land near the court premises which can be used for Bijbehara court. He was also asked for funds for repair and renovation of the damaged court building and its fencing.
He directed SE, R&B to submit a detailed project report of the damaged infrastructure of Bijbehara court so that funds can be made available for the renovation work.
Principal, District and Sessions Judge, Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, senior officers of the judiciary and district administration besides, President Bar Association Anantnag accompanied Justice Magray during his visit to District Court, Anantnag.
The Deputy Commissioner Anantnag informed him that Rs. 7 lakh have been released for Bar office repair and renovation works.
During the visit, Justice Magray had an interactive session with the members of Bar Association. While highlighting the role of bar and bench, he impressed upon the members to discharge their responsibilities professionally to provide justice to the needy. He impressed upon the judicial officers for speedy disposal of old cases. He ensured the members of the bar that all possibilities would be explored for construction of lawyers’ chambers in the District Court Complex, Anantnag.
He also sought the intervention of the DC for creating necessary infrastructure for Munsiff Court, Shangus and for identification of land for construction of new court complex Anantnag.
