Ensure justice through timely delivery of services: Veeri to Revenue officers

RAJOURI, Apr 9: Minister for Revenue, Haj & Auqaf and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri today asked the officers/officials of Revenue Department to widen their role and perform duties with an objective to provide justice to the people.
The Minister said this while chairing the Revenue Conference of Poonch and Rajouri districts, here today.  The conference was also attended by MLA Rajouri, Ch Qamar Hussain.
Financial Commissioner Revenue, Lokesh Jha, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Hemant Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Deputy Commis-sioner Poonch, Mohamad Aijaz, Custodian Jammu, Mushtaq Ahmad Malik, Special Officer Auqaf, Raj Mohammed, ADCs, ACRs, SDMs, Tehsildars and other Revenue officials of both the district attended the conference.
During the conference, the DCs of both the districts gave brief overview of the functioning of Revenue Department and apprised the Minister about the performance of Revenue Department in providing revenue related services to the people and efforts taken to improve its functioning.
Addressing the Revenue officers, the Minister stressed on timely delivery of service to the people. “Do not let the people move from one office to other for redressal of their issues or getting revenue related services,” he said adding that they should be provided justice in time bound manner.
While discussing the efforts of the department to retrieve the encroached State land, the Minister directed the officers to conduct field visit regularly and to maintain the land record on real time basis.
To make the presence of the department among the people, the Minister stressed for visiting on ground before doing intekal/girdawari to ensure its authenticity on ground.
Reviewing the progress of digitization of land records under Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP) in both the districts, the Minister sought the details of the projects from Regional Director, Survey & Land Records.
Veeri also asked DCs to review the progress under DILRMP on monthly basis to further give push to the entire process.
The Minister also reviewed the progress of land acquisition cases in the districts and was informed about the status with amount received and disbursed to the land owners as compensation. He asked the DCs not to delay the disbursal process and to provide payment to the people as soon they receive form the indenting department.
On the occasion, employees including Naib Tehsildars/ Girdawars also raised their demands and sought Minister’s intervention for redressal of their issues including rationalization of Patwar Halqas, clearing of pending DPC cases and others.
The Minister assured the employees that all pending DPC cases are looked into and necessary instructions will be issued in this regard.
Regarding rationalization of Patwar Halqas, the Minister asked the Financial Commissi-oner Revenue to issue a circular soon to identify the Revenue villages which have population between 12 to 15 thousand persons and accordingly action will be taken in this regard.
