Enquiry ordered into substandard work

POONCH, Apr 21: Taking a strong cognizance of the complaint alleging usage of substandard material in the construction of High School Dharana, Education Zone Mendhar, DDC Poonch Mohammad Aijaz has ordered an enquiry into the matter.
The school was upgraded from Middle School to High School in the year 2011 and Rs 58 lakh were allotted for construction of building under RMSA through R&B Department.
“The school administration has intimated that the contractor has used substandard material for construction of school building rendering it unsafe for putting into use for the students. The building is also prone to border shelling and only 6 rooms have been constructed instead of sanctioned 8 number of rooms and too without doors and windows making the classroom not worthy of use for students especially in the winter season”, the complaint said.
Keeping in view the seriousness of the complaint and plight of more than 300 students studying in the school, DDC Poonch has ordered an enquiry before initiating further legal action. In this regard, a committee has been constituted with ADDC Poonch as chairman and Xen REW, Chief Education Officer and DSEO Poonch as its members.
The committee will submit the factual report in light of allegations made in the complaint within one week positively. As a matter of procedure a preliminary enquiry is required before taking any action under the law.
