Engineers to hold protest today

JAMMU, Feb 28: All Jammu and Kashmir Graduate Engineers Association held a meeting, in which unwarranted arrest of four senior engineers was strongly condemned.
In the meeting, it was resolved to lodge a strong protest tomorrow at Lok Nirman Bhawan at 10:30 am and also at other district headquarters of Jammu Province, in which R&B Department engineers along with the engineers of Hydraulic Department, PHE, I&FC will also participate.
The association expressed concern over the Government move in which the engineers were arrested treating them as criminals.
In the meeting, the speakers said that it is very unfortunate that inspite rendering 24X7 selfless services, the engineers are being harassed.
“It seems that some agencies are behind the whole scenario who want to malign the engineers, who are always at the back end call of the Government. The said agencies are trying to sabotage the agenda of the Government towards development by creating confrontations between the State Government and the engineers”, they said.
The Association has decided that all the development work will be stopped if such line of action will be adopted by the Government in future. The Association has appealed to all the engineers to participate in the protest tomorrow.
The meeting was attended by Er Mujib Tak, State President, Er Gandeep Pargal, State General Secretary, Er ND Khawaja, Senior Vice President, Er Rajesh Bhagat, Vice President, Er Ashok Tandon, Chief Organiser, Er Rahat Gupta, State Secretary, Er Gopal Sharma, State Secretary, Er Arafat Masood, Joint Secretary, Er Kulbhushan Bahu, Joint Secretary and many others.
