Enggs’ delegation calls on Minister

JAMMU, Nov 5: All Jammu and Kashmir Graduate Engineers Association(Civil) today met  Minister for PHE, I&FC, Sham Lal Chowdhary under the chairmanship of it’s newly elected president, Gandeep Pargal and projected issues of the engineering fraternity.
The minister was apprised of  the burning issues being faced by Graduate engineers. They  pointed out that   Graduate engineers are waiting eagerly for their first ever confirmation that is Assistant Engineers for the last 17  years. Timely promotions at all levels and release of  running grades in  favour of Engineers was projected by Association.
It was also briefed that Diploma holders are manning more than 20% quota while making future promotions. It was further deliberated that  cadre is not Diploma or Degree as is being projected by Diploma holders but cadre is a post.
The Minister had a patient hearing and assured that rules will be taken into consideration while making promotions and all the vacant posts shall be filled up timely in near future.
Prominent among those present on this occasion were,  Anil Thapa,  ZA Malik,  Gopal Sharma,  Brahmjyoti,  Kulbhushan Bhau,  Vikram Dogra, Rakesh Gupta, Arafat Masud and  Sumesh Hangloo.
