Encroachments from 3184 kanals State land removed

JAMMU, Feb 7: District administration has removed encroachments from over 3184 kanals of State land in Bhalwal and Pargwal areas of Jammu.
During the detailed exercise conducted on the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Simrandeep Singh, the administration identified encroachments on 3184 kanals and 13 marlas of State land falling in Ghaink, Ranjan, Hadwal, Bhalwal and Jandval villages of Bhalwal tehsil and village Pargwal.
The encroachers had occupied such a huge chunk of land by getting entries recorded in the revenue records. The process of eviction of these illegal encroachers was initiated on January 23, 2017 and final eviction order was passed on February 7, 2017 after according due opportunity of being heard to the illegal encroachers.
Over 1879 kanals of State land was illegally held by Sukhdev Singh, Bachan Singh and Suram Singh, all from the same family in village Pargwal while as the remaining illegal occupations were existing in tehsil Bhalwal.
The action was carried out on the basis of reports furnished by Tehsildars of Bhalwal and Pargwal.
