JAMMU, Dec 12: Religious Satsang programme-cum-Prakash Utsav was held at Deewan Sahib Mandir, RS Pura, which was attended by large number of people from all walks of life.
On the occasion, Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) RS Pura and Political Advisor to State BJP President Dr Gagan Bhagat was the chief guest, who inaugurated the programme by lightning the ceremonial lamp. The programme was organised by Bhagwan Dass Ji Maharaj and Udhaas Marg Sanstha.
Bhagwan Dass Ji Maharaj Ji while delivering sermons said that the company of the truth is also known as ‘Satsang’ where ‘Sat’ means the absolute truth i.e. God and ‘Sang’ refers to the company of seekers or Saints. In short, Satsang refers to an environment which is conducive for experiencing the presence of God, he added.
“There are many benefits to be gained by attending a Satsang, he said, adding that one is able to ask questions about the science of spirituality and therefore clear any doubts that one might have.
He stated that if we have any doubts about spiritual practice or about the principles we need to get them cleared or else we will not be able to practice spirituality whole heartedly.
Dr Gagan Bhagat, while speaking said that gatherings at such places display the faith of the masses towards religious saints, who preach brotherhood, respect for other religions and spending time here gives peace of mind.
In today’s busy life the parents are not bothered what their children are doing and what they need, and by not sparing time for them there are increased chances of drug addiction, he said, adding that it is the time when we all have to stand by the females and encourage them to do something for the society.
