Jammu, Nov 9:  The newly recruited Non-Gazetted State Government employees have demanded revocation of  new recruitment policy.
Talking to media-persons here today, the newly recruited youth said that under new recruitment policy, every new appointee shall be entitled to the minimum scale of pay along with the grade pay of hardly Rs 7000 applicable to  the post against which he/ she is appointed.
The persons appointed under these rules shall entitled to annual increment, DA, HRA, CCA after successful completion of their five years of service on consolidated salary. It is sheer their exploitation  and discrimination of highest level against them. Two persons in the same department, on same post  having same nature of work would get hugely unequal salary. It violates Supreme Court  directives of ‘ equal work, equal pay.’
They pointed out that it is most unfair to make one section of employees the beggars and other kings. “Let the pay of all State employees from a peon to MLA be reduced equally as per the post, rank or pay scale so as to safeguard the deficit budget instead of making one section scapegoat,” they maintained.
The employees further remarked that  such a policy  is sheer injustice to the youth of J&K. How, can they run their families and manage their livelihood at meager salary of just about Rs 7000 to Rs 8000 ? This new policy is creating frustration among the youth. They strongly demanded withdrawal of this new policy under SRO 202.
They sought intervention of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti in this connection.
