Electrical employees postpone strike

SRINAGAR, Sept 11: Jammu and Kashmir Electrical Employees Union today said that they have postponed proposed strike today after “written assurance” by Government to resolve their demands.
A spokesman of the JKEEU said that the strike which was proposed to begin from tomorrow has been postponed. He said the decision to call of the strike was taken following written assurance by Principal Secretary Power Development Department during a meeting.
“The meeting was held in cordial atmosphere and the Principal Secretary assured us in writing that all our demands would be met in phases and issues would be resolved. Thereafter, it was decided to call off the strike but if Government continues dilly-dallying tactics, we won’t hesitate in issuing strict protest programme,” he added.
