KATRA, Nov 3: An elderly man committed suicide by shooting himself with his own rifle, here today.
The deceased was identified as Sohan Singh (65), son of Shambu Dass of Chammayra, Tehsil Katra. He shot himself with his rifle and reportedly died on the spot. On getting information, a Police party reached the spot and seized rifle besides shifting the dead body to hospital for postmortem. A suicide note has also been recovered from the spot but Police did not divulge details about the same.
Meanwhile, three-year old child of a pilgrim couple from Uttar Pradesh died here today.
Dev Verma son of Rahul Verma of Muzfar Nagar UP, becomes unconscious when the family reached near Ardhkwari. He was immediately shifted to Ardhkwari dispensary where doctors declared him as brought dead. According to the parents, the child was suffering with heart disease. The body of the deceased was handed over to the parents after furnishing all legal formalities,
