UDHAMPUR, Apr 8: An elderly man was hacked to death by his nephew, who also attacked wife of the deceased and left her critically injured at their house Sattian, under the jurisdiction of Ramnagar Police Station.
Some property dispute is learnt to be cause of the murder and Police has arrested the accused, informed SHO Ramnagar, Inspector Sanjay Raina.
The deceased was identified as Chet Ram (75), son of Kund of village Sattian, who was allegedly hacked to death by his nephew Sheru Ram son of Shankar Dass of Sattian. The accused forcibly entered into the house of Chet Ram around 0430 hrs this morning and attacked him with an axe. The victim died on spot and the accused also attacked the wife of deceased with the axe resulting in severe injuries to her.
On getting an information in this regard, DySP Jagdev Slathia and SHO Sanjay Raina rushed to the scene and called FSL team as well for legal formalities and further investigation.
Police also arrested the accused and registered a case FIR number 53/18 u/s 449,307,302 RPC at Police Station Ramnagar.
