EJAC (K) discusses various aspects of budget

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Jan 17: In an extra-ordinary meeting convened by EJAC (K)  under the chairmanship of its State president Mustaq Ahmed Khan, various aspects of the recent budget, presented by the Finance Minister, were discussed at length.
After threadbare discussion, it was felt that the Finance Minister after deliberations with the State level employees’ organizations and after agreeing in principle with the suggestions put forth by the representatives, formulated the relevant clauses; while presenting the budget.
“The Finance Minister has made a provision in the budget for regularization of daily-wagers/casual labours etc as well as removal of pay anomalies. He also highlighted the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission w.e.f. April 2018. However, so far as the arrears of two years are concerned, there is no specific mention, which has created confusion among the employees viz-a-viz the modus operandi,” the meet said and added that it would have been expedient if the Government had issued a formal order about the mode of payment of arrears accruing out of 7th Pay Commission giving it effect from April 2018 instead of waiting for one more budget of 2018-19.
In the meeting, the EJAC-(K) also expressed its concern about removal of pay anomalies of Clerical Cadre which is pending since long and enhancement of the honorarium of Aanganwadi Workers and Helpers who are clamouring hard for the redressal of their grievances. The EJAC (K) also expressed its concern over the silence on the part of (PSU) Public Sector undertakings.
At the conclusion, the EJAC (K) impressed upon the employees in general and the leadership in particular to remain steadfast and united for the welfare of the employees.
