Eight injured in road accidents

JAMMU, Jan 29: Eight persons were injured today in separate road mishaps in city and its outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, a pedestrian identified as Jyoti Devi (45) wife of Ramesh Lal, a resident of Roop Nagar was hit and injured by a car at Janipur, this morning.
A pedestrian was also injured when a bike hit him at Sari in Pounichak area. The injured has been identified as Jagmohan Bakshi (61) son of Raghunath Bakshi, a resident of Sari-Rakhwal.
At Fawarra Chowk near Greater Kailash, a car hit a pedestrian and left him seriously injured. The injured has been identified as Purshotam Gupta (50) son of Chajju Ram, a resident of Rehari.
A bike rider namely Omkar Singh (35) son of late Kuldeep Singh of Khanpur (Nagrota) also suffered injuries when his bike was hit by an unknown vehicle at Jagti near Nagrota.
A female pedestrian namely Haseena Begum (38), wife of Farooq Ahmed, a resident of Banihal, received injuries after being hit by a bike at Bagh-e-Bahu area.
Two bike borne youths identified as Balwinder Kumar (22) son of Ram Lal and Anil Kumar (22) son of Ramesh Lal, both residents of Gole Panj Pir (Talab Tillo) were injured when a car hit their bike at Vikas lane in Talab Tillo area.
At Kunjwani Chowk, a young girl identified as Sakshi Sharma (22) daughter of Rampal, a resident of Sarore in Samba district, was injured in a collision between an Army vehicle and a minibus.
All the injured were shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for treatment.
In all cases, the concerned police have taken cognizance.
