JAMMU, Aug 7: On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, eight persons were injured today by banned Chinese thread across Jammu.
According to the reports, in separate incidents across Jammu City and its outskirts, eight persons including a 14-year-old boy were injured today due to synthetic Chinese thread, which is banned in the State.
According to police sources, a 14-year-old boy namely Avi Kumar son of Bodh Raj, resident of Gho Manhasha, suffered severe electric shock when he went at roof top of his neighbour’s house to catch a kite, whose string was entangled in the 11000 KVA line, which was passing over that roof.  The injured boy is admitted in the emergency ward of GMC Jammu and is on ventilator. His condition is stated to be critical.
Sources said in separate incidents, six other persons travelling on their two-wheelers got injured after the banned synthetic kite string entangled with their body parts. The said that the injured were identified as Vimal of Resham Ghar Colony, Vansh Sharma of Bakshi Nagar, Pawan Gupta of Shaheedi Chowk, Anav Jain of Karan Nagar, Romesh Sharma of village Saharan (Gho Manhasa) and Rafiq Hussain of Raipur Satwari. All the injured were shifted to GMC Jammu for treatment.
“However, this time only one such case was reported in Government Hospital, Gandhi Nagar”, police sources informed. They said Rakesh Kumar of Gho Manhasha was riding his scooty when a synthetic kite thread entangled with one of his body parts and left him injured.
