Eid Milad-un-Nabi was celebrated with religious fervour, gaiety

JAMMU, Jan 25: Taking out of religious processions and holding of congregations marked the celebration of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, the birth day of Prophet Mohammed across the Jammu region today. The biggest religious procession was taken out by Anjuman Eid Milad-Uun –Nabi from Talhi Morh to Ramzanpora, Janipur here today.
A large number of members from Muslim community participated in the procession which passed from various markets of Janipur before converting into a Jashan-e-Milad –un-Nabi.
The precisionists with Islamic banners and flags in their hands were raising religious slogans enroute and reciting Naat and Mankabat in praise of Prophet Mohammed.
People enroute had erected welcome gates to receive the procession and also stalls were installed at different places to offer drinking water and other eatables to them. The members of Hindu and Sikh community greeted their Muslim brethren on the occasion.
Besides other Islamic scholars the religious congregation was addressed by Moulana Mohammed Sabir president, Jaima-e-Masjid Jammu. They threw light on the importance of the day and life of Prophet Mohammed. Congratulating the people on the occasion they urged them to follow the path shown by Prophet Mohammed and dedicate themselves for the promotion of peace and universal brotherhood which is the message of Islam.
Both members of Sunni as well as Shia Muslims participated in the function.
Another religious congregation was held at Jama Masjid Talab Khatikan, Jammu. The religious congregation was organized by Intizamia Committee, Eid Milad-un-Nabi. A large number of Muslims drawn from different parts of Jammu city and its outskirts attended the function.
The renowned Ulmas of the state addressed the congregation. Besides, the students of different Madrassas also attended it. The Ulmas delivered speeches on life of Prophet Mohammed and highlighted the universal message of Islam.
The function was of three sessions. In the first session Moulana Mufti Mohammed Tahir Naadri addressed the congregation and highlighted the objective of Islam. The Friday prayers were performed by Moulana Mufti Innayatullah Qasmi Imam –o-Khateeb Jamia Masjid Talab Khatikan.
The second session started with the speech of Moulana Mufti Faiz -ul-Waheed who highlighted the international teachings of Quran. In the third session the students of Madrasas delivered speeches and later Moulana Mufti Abdul Gani Azhari ex-professor Kashmir University threw light on the message of Islam for the humanity at large.
All the speakers threw light on building of moral character which is essence for the welfare of mankind.
President of Intizamia Committee Syed Shabir Ahmed in a statement later congratulated the people of the state in general and Muslim community in particular on the occasion. He said Islam teaches humanity, fellow feeling and communal harmony.
Meanwhile Shia Federation Jammu president Ashaq Hussian its general secretary Dr Iftiqar Hussian and spokesman Fida Hussian have also congratulated the people on the occasion.
The reports coming from other parts of the region said that Eid Milad –un-_Nabi was celebrated with full religious fervour and gaiety at Doda, Kishtwar, Banihal, Bhadarwah, Ramban, Reasi, Poonch, Rajouir, Mendhar and other parts of the region.
At Rajouri the biggest congregation was held at Eidgah Rajouri. Thousands of Muslims took part in the celebrations. A procession was taken out from Talab Masjid to Eidgah which passed through various markets of the town. All the markets were fully decorated on the occasion. The congregations was addressed by various Islamic scholars including Moulana Naseeb Ahmed from Lucknow who threw light on teachings of prophet Mohammed.
At Mendhar different congregations were held and processions taken out on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi. The biggest function was organized by Dawat-e-Islamia led by its chairman Moulana Mushtaq Ahmed Qadri. A procession was also taken out from Chotay Shah Badshah Saki Maidan to Mendhar town and later it culminated at Bus Stand Mendhar. Speeches were given by scholars on the life and teachings of Prophet Mohammed.
Another congregation was held at Jama Masjid Mendhar which was led by Moulana Mohammed Ayub Nakshbandi. All the markets of the town were fully decorated. Special prayers were held for the peace.
Eid Mild –un-Nabi procession was also taken out in Reasi under the leadership Moulvi Basher-ud-Din Mufti Azam of J&K. The procession passed through various bazaars of the town. The Reasi Bazars were fully decorated. The procession among others was attended by Haji Ghulam Ahmed Malik, Administrative Officer Auqaf, Tariq Bhat, Shabir Ahmed Magrey, Haji Karam Din and Ch. Murat Ali.
