KATHUA, Mar 20: BJP MLA from Kathua Rajiv Jasrotia today said that efforts are afoot to ensure holistic development of the Kathua constituency so that the people are provided with quality basic facilities of living.
He said necessary mechanism has already been put in place to ensure time bound execution of various developmental initiatives. MLA was addressing public gathering after inauguration of Railway road black topping, foundation stone of Fruit Mandi, Krishna Colony Bridge, inauguration of Nallah at village Nagrota costing Rs 320 lakh. He said the executing agencies and officers should work in a coordinated manner to remove the bottlenecks if any and ensure the benefit of the welfare schemes reaches the targeted populace.
MLA said the Government’s initiatives have been monumental and speak about the endeavour of both Centre and State to usher an era of developmental activities in the State, which were otherwise not been taken on a war footing basis. He said that the necessary funds are being made available to the executing agencies so that they do not face any inconvenience and the works are completed within the stipulated time lines.
MLA while appealing the people to participate in the upcoming Panchayati polls said that Panchayats will accelerate the grass root development of the rural and far flung areas of the State besides ensuring that the effective de-centralization of powers takes place which is very essential in a democratic set up as people get involved in implementation and formulation of developmental plans. He said the development of villages would get accelerated as the area specific and need based developmental activities would be undertaken.
Emphasizing holistic development of Kathua constituency, MLA said that he is committed to equal development of all sections of society irrespective of region, caste, creed, language, religion, colour of skin or gender. Stressing on strict adherence of timelines, he appealed the concerned officials for proper utilization of resources in a time-bound manner to ensure holistic and sustainable development of the area. People are the ultimate beneficiaries of the development works, the MLA added.
