Educational institutions celebrate Republic Day

JAMMU, Jan 27: The 68th Republic Day of India was celebrated by various educational institutions, ranging from schools to the universities, here yesterday with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour.
At Jammu University, the Republic Day was celebrated by teaching faculty, officers, staff and students of the university. Vice-Chancellor Prof. R D Sharma, unfurled the National Flag at the Fountain Plaza and released the Tri Colour balloons. Prof. Satnam Kour, Dean Students Welfare, delivered the welcome address while Guard of Honour was presented by JU Security Guards,  led by Capt. S R  Dubey, Security Officer.
On the occasion, patriotic songs  were presented by children and students of Institute of Music & Fine Arts.
Central University of Jammu celebrated the Republic Day at Main Campus, Bagla and Temporary Academic Block (TAB), Sainik Colony, Jammu, wherein  Prof  Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor of CUJ,   unfurled the National flag  and delivered speech. He urged the members of the university to strive for excellence in their respective field in order to build a robust university system.  The NSS unit of CUJ organized cultural programme,  including songs, dances and skits.
On the occasion of  Republic Day at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Tricolour was unfurled by SMVDU Vice-Chancellor Prof   Sanjeev K. Jain,  in the presence of  Registrar,  Ajay Khajuria, Deans, Heads, faculty members, staff and students. Despite persistent rain,  staff with their family members and students attended the flag hoisting ceremony with patriotic enthusiasm. A mesmerizing cultural programme was presented by students, staff kids and students of Vikalp,  under the guidance of Coordinator  NSS,  Sumanta Sarathi Sharma. . Prizes for various events were also distributed.
SKUAST Jammu saluted the Nation and its Constitution with patriotic fervor and zeal on the occasion of 68th Republic Day at the Main Campus, Chatha where Dr  Pradeep Kumar Sharma, Vice Chancellor,  hoisted tricolor flag followed by national anthem. Besides, Director Research Dr  J P Sharma, Dean Dr  D P Abrol, Registrar Dr  Dileep Kachroo, DDSW Dr  Sandeep Sehgal, president Teaching Dr  Vikas Sharma, all officers, faculty members, non-teaching staff were present on the occasion. A bouquet of cultural activities was also presented by the students.
Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology (YCET) celebrated Republic Day with zeal and enthusiasm. Er. Vidhi  S  Singh, Chairman (JGEI) and Dr  Shashi Kumar Singh, Director (YCET),  unfurled the National flag and distributed sweets among the faculty and staff. On the occasion, P.N. Langoo, Chief Administrative Officer (JGEI), Er B R Verma, Chief Coordinator of (YCET) and COD of different departments paid rich tributes to the soldiers who fearlessly work for safeguarding our territories from the enemies.
DPS Jammu celebrated the  Republic Day  in the school premises. The program began with the hoisting of National Flag by  Ajatshatru Singh,  MLC, and president RCT J&K, Jammu. This was followed by the colourful cultural programme presented by the staff members that included teachers, choir group, poetry recitation and instrumental performance.
Dogra Higher Secondary School Shastri Nagar, Jammu celebrated  Republic Day in the school premises wherein the National flag was unfurled by the Managing Director . Gambhir Dev Singh Charak.  National Anthem was sung and the students presented  small skits and patriotic songs.
Ambay Public School, Gurha Brahmana, Patoli, celebrated the 68th Republic Day with full zeal and enthusiasm.   Sonia Sharma, Principal,  hoisted the National Flag. Children of various classes performed  dances, skits and cultural programme on this occasion.
Sunrise Public School, a unit of Sunrise Educational Trust Channi Himmat, celebrated  Republic Day by organizing  cultural activities and flag hoisting by Kewal Singh Charak, who was chief guest on the occasion.
The premises of Fatima Convent High School, Bishnah,  echoed with patriotic fervour as the students from multitudes of Government and private educational institutions, officials from varied departments of the State Government and common masses from Bishnah Tehsil came together to celebrate the grandiose occasion of the 68th Republic Day amid an ambience of solemnity and grandeur. On the occasion, the school campus was turned into the venue for the official Republic Day celebration of the Tehsil.
Er Sonu Pargal, SDM Jammu South, took the salute along with Rafiq Ahmed Jaral, Tehsilldar Bishnah, SHO S Paramjeet Singh, SHO Bishnah, Fr T S Jacob, Principal of Fatima Convent High School and others.
KNIT Talab-Tillo Jammu & KNIT Green Model Academy Gajay Singh Pura, Sangarampur, Jammu,  celebrated  Republic Day with great enthusiasm and  patriotic spirit. National Flag was unfurled by the chairman of the Institution,  Prof  J L Kotwal and  salute on parade was taken by him. The programme was so thrilling and  vibrant that the audiences were enthralled by the performance relevant to the make in India.
The R S  Golden Higher Secondary School, Kharote Morh, Kathua  celebrated Republic Day function in the School premises wherein Dr  Bharat Bhushan, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kathua was the chief guest while Dr  Yash Paul Sharma, Professor, Govt. Degree College for Women, Kathua,  was the special guest and Kuldeep Gupta, Principal Govt. Higher Secondary School ( Boys) Kathua was the guest of honour. The programme started with unfurling of the Tricolor and Saraswati Vandhana. Thereafter, the students of the school presented a variety of cultural programme
The  Republic day celebrations were held in DPS Udhampur with great fervor and gaiety.
The students did a special assembly in which they marked the importance of this day in their speech. A cultural program was presented  by the children. Later on flag hoisting was done. The chairman of the school Dr  J C Gupta, the Principal and the management were present on the occasion.
Management, staff and students of Raina Higher Secondary School Ploura Jammu celebrated the Republic Day  by organizing an impressive function in the schools premises wherein Principal Ravind Raina hoisted the National flag. Students presented colourful programmes while sweets were also distributed on the occasion.
Raina Higher Secondary school Chak Seri, Bhalwal, also celebrated the Republic Day in similar way and the school Principal Mohit Raina hoisted National Flag. On the occasion, a debate was also held.
To celebrate the Republic Day, a function was organized by the students of Tulsi Public School Gumpal, Domana. On the occasion, Sarpanch Shamsher Singh hoisted the National Flag while the students presented various colourful items.
The British International School   celebrated India’s 68th Republic day with great fervour and zest.  National Flag was hoisted by the chairperson, Gita Bahl. National song was sung  by all the children. A speech was delivered by the Principal on the topic “What is Republic Day and its importance “.  Power point presentation was shown to the students and National flag making activity was done by students.
J&K Police Public School, Miran Sahib celebrated Republic Day in the school premises. Students presented cultural items and celebrated the day with great pomp and show inspite of heavy rainfall.  Principal of the school,  Sanjeev Pradhan hoisted the National Flag.
Republic Day  was celebrated by Shakti Public School Akhnoor,  Devipur . The programme commenced with the flag hoisting by  Tripta Jamwal , Principal  of the school. The students displayed their active participation and presented  patriotic songs and other items. A  motivational lecture on B R Ambedhkar was also given by Rashpal Singh Jamwal,  chairman  Shiv Shakti Educational Group.
Jiger Institute of Education and Rehabilitation, Gangyal, celebrated the Republic Day under the umbrella of Humanity Welfare Organization, with its differently abled children. On the occasion, National flag was unfurled by Gurdeep Singh,  Sandhya Dhar and Pinky Jain,  followed by patriotic song by the students of the school .
Dream Land Public School Udhampur organized the Republic Day celebration function where Chairman of the School, Om Parkash Sadotra was the chief guest. He unfurled the National flag.
Dream Land Public School,  village Sial Jattan in Udhampur, also celebrated  the R-Day by unfurling National flag by Siddheshwar Sadotra,  Principal of the school. On the occasion,  school children presented a cultural programme.
Army Public School, Udhampur celebrated 68th Republic Day with full fervour, enthusiasm and Patriotism.  Whole staff of APS Udhampur with of a feeling of Patriotism was present on occasion.  Chief Guest, SO to Chairman, APS Udhampur hoisted the National Flag in school assembly ground. On this occasion, a beautiful cultural programme was presented by the students.
Sanmati Vimal Jain Academy  celebrated  Republic Day with great enthusiasm. The celebrations began with unfurling of Tri-color by Principal  Madan Lal Sharma. Thereafter, a  patriotic dance-cum-skit was presented by the students. A beautiful dance by Primary wing students was also present.
The 68th Republic Day was celebrated in all its solemnity and grandeur at BSF school where IG BSF,   Ram Avtaar was the chief guest and he unfurled the National flag in presence of officers of the force, Principal Dr S K Shukla and others. The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity. Patriotic songs, dance and speeches were organized.  The program reached its culmination with distribution of sweets among the participants.
Jammu Public Higher Secondary School, Sainik Colony, Jammu celebrated Republic Day with great fervour and enthusiasm. Santosh Sharma, Principal of the School unfurled the National Flag and spoke on the importance of the day. Students sang National Anthem.
Sanatan Dharam Higher Secondary Kanya Vidyalaya, Jullaka Mohalla, Jammu celebrated 68th Republic Day with zeal and zest in the school premises. Ex Chief Education Officer and President of the School, Suresh Sharma hoisted the National Flag amid chanting of National Anthem.
The 68th Republic Day was celebrated by Shakti Public School, Devipur, Akhnoor with enthusiasm and fervour. The Programme commenced with the Flag hoisting by Tripta Jamwal, Principal Shiv Shakti Educational Group.
The 68th Republic Day of the Nation was celebrated at Sainik School Nagrota with great joy and fervour at Mini Stadium of the School.  Cadets of Army and Naval wing participated in the programme. Principal of School, Kapil Dev Koushal unfurled the National Flag and acknowledged the salute as the School Pipers played National Anthem.
Anuradha Higher Secondary School, Barnai, Jammu celebrated 68th Republic Day with gusto in its School premises. Director of the School, KN Singh hoisted the National Flag, while the celebration ended with a speech by Principal, Susheel Pandita.
68th Republic Day was celebrated by Co-operative Public High School with pomp and show, wherein National Flag was hoisted by Senior Citizen from Old Age Home in presence of President of the School, Balbir Singh and Director Jitender.
68th Republic Day was celebrated in the premises of Chenab College of Education and Baldev Infotech Systems with great enthusiasm and fervour. The function began with unfurling of the National Tri-Colour by Kamaldeep Kour, Principal of the College. Thereafter, National Anthem was sung in unison by the students and faculty members. The function concluded with a motivating speech by the Principal.
On the occasion of Republic Day at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mubarak Mandi,  Principal Neelam Gandotra unfurled the National flag amidst singing of National Anthem by the students. A march past by the students was also held to salute  the National flag.
At Government Girls Higher Secondary School Shastri Nagar, Jammu, the Republic Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and fervour, Principal Tahira Parveen hoisted National flag in presence of SHO Gandhi Nagar, school staff and students.
Republic Day was celebrated at Government Higher Secondary School Bahu Fort, with great enthusiasm and national fervour. On the occasion, Principal Anjli Gupta hoisted the National Flag in the presence of teaching as well as non-teaching staff and students.
Govt  Hr  Secondary School, Jullaka Mohalla, Jammu,  celebrated  Republic Day wherein a large number of students, teachers and locals participated.  Razia Chaudhary,  Principal of the school,  unfurled the tricolor.  he program concluded with distribution of sweets
Government High School, Roun Udhampur celebrated Republic Day with great pump and show. Tri-colour flag was hoisted by Jyoti Gupta, Naib Tehsildar, Roun, amidst singing of National Anthem.
Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Bakshi Nagar celebrated Republic Day with fervour.  Shashi Prabha Thappa, Principal,  presided over the function and stressed upon strengthening of the nation and maintaining her sovereignty unity and integrity. The function culminated with distribution of sweets among the students, staff and spectators.
Government Mixed Higher Secondary School, Camp Roop Nagar celebrated 68th Republic Day by hoisting  National flag by  Principal Purnima Duloo. Students and staff members  participated in the function.
Government High School Pallanwalla  celebrated Republic Day in the school premises, wherein the Headmaster Balwan Singh Bhau unfurled the National flag. On the occasion, students presented cultural items and patriotic songs.
Government Boys Higher Secondary School Bakshi Nagar Jammu marked the Republic Day celebration by hoisting National flag in the school premises. On the occasion, students were dressed up in saffron, white and green attire. Sweets were distributed while the Principal Rajni Kotwal gave an insight about importance of the day.
Government High School, Barui zone, Akhnoor along with complex schools,  celebrated the Republic Day with full enthusiasm. Chief guest, Milkhi Ram Sharma, Sarpanch unfurled the National Flag in the presence of large number of local residents. Headmaster Vidhya Sagar Sharma concluded the programme.
Government High School Khanna Chhargal celebrated 68th Republic Day in the school premises with fervour and enthusiasm. The chief guest Kirpal Singh and Headmaster Kamlesh Kumari hoisted the National flag, followed by the National Anthem and march pass by the students.
Government High School, Qasim Nagar, Bahu Fort celebrated the day with hoisting of the National tri-colour by Headmaster Neelam Rani. Cultural activities were also performed by the students.
Republic Day was celebrated in Government Girls High School, city Chowk where the National flag was hoisted by the Head Master Choudhary Parveen Mohd in the presence of staff and students.
Government High School, Sirah, Reasi celebrated the Day with pump and show.  Lal Chand Atri, Headmaster,  unfurled the National flag followed by National Anthem and cultural items.
Government Higher Secondary School (camp) Nagrota celebrated the Day in the school premises with gaiety and fervour. The Principal unfurled the National Flag and National Anthem was sung by the students.
Government Boys High School, Birpur, Samba celebrated the Republic Day with great pump and show.  Headmaster, Madan Lal Sharma hoisted the National Flag in the presence of school committee members and staff members as well as students.
Government Middle School, Nowshera, Rajouri celebrated the Day. Headmaster Babu Ram Sharma hoisted the National Flag in presence of locals. Besides cultural programme, sweets were distributed.
Government High School, Sarote (Bhalwal) celebrated the Republic Day with pump and show. HM Kiran Magotra along  Serpanch Sudershan Singh hoisted the National Flag.
Republic Day was celebrated at Govt High School Hathal with great pump and  show in spite of heavy rain. All the staff members and local teachers of the area were present in the celebration. The national flag was hoisted by  Jasbir Singh of Salehri. A colourful cultural programme was also presented  by the students.
Govt  Hr  Sec  School Chanunta (Udhampur) celebrated Republic Day with the active participation of adjoining schools in its premises,  under the chairmanship of  Usha Gupta, the Principal of the school, who  hoisted the Tri-colour and took salute. The students presented colorful cultural items which became the centre of attraction.
Middle School Battal, Middle School Tabber, Girls Middle School Chanunta Dr Ambedkar Convent School participated.
68th Republic Day celebration was celebrated in the premises of the Government High School Kotli Jijjan Zone Tikri (Udhampur). Hoshiyar Singh Sarpanch unfurled the National flag and took the salute. Students of the school presented an impressive March Past  and colorful programme. Headmaster of the school, Manohar Lal,   highlighted  importance of the day. Staff and students of the Government Middle School Upper Kotli, Government M S Omarh, M S Salary, S Pata,  BVM. Thathi and Government P S Migrant Mohalla Kotli Jijjan were also present in the function.
Government Higher Secondary School, Bhaddu (Billawar) celebrated the Day with fervour. The Flag was hoisted by chief guest I D Soni, in presence of Principal Kuldeep Kumar Gupta. Special guest  O C Mehta, guest of honour, D K Vaid and others  were present on the occasion.
Government High School, Rah-Salyote celebrated 68th Republic day with pump and show. Bharat Bhushan Sharma, Executive Magistrate, 1st Class,  unfurled the National flag. Others present on the occasion, included  Dev Raj Sharma (Sarpanch) and  Bawa Ditta (retd) Head Master.
68th Republic Day was celebrated in the premises of Government H S S Ghoumanhasan with fervour and zeal. J R Sharma, Principal unfurled the National tricolour amid the chanting of National Anthem by the students.
Government Higher Secondary School Sohal (Akhnoor) celebrated Republic Day with fervour and zeal. S N P Singh, Principal unfurled the National flag in the presence of staff members and students.
Government High School, Aithem celebrated the Day with great pomp and show in the school premises in presence of Headmaster Anita Sharma and members of staff along with Panches and Sarpanch Balwant Singh and members of the school Development committee.
Government Hari Singh Higher Secondary School, Jammu celebrated Republic Day  in the school premises. Principal Sultana Koser unfurled the Flag in presence of all the staff members and students.
Government High School Kaleeth, zone Jourian,  celebrated  Republic Day with great patriotic fervour. The National Flag was hoisted by Om Parkash Sharma, Headmaster of the school.
Government Higher Secondary School, Basohali celebrated 68th Republic Day. Principal Pawan Kumar Sharma hoisted the Tri-colour and congratulated the students for beings citizens of the great Republic and democratic India.
Government Middle School (GMS) Chhan Morian in Hiranagar Zone celebrated the Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The Headmistress of the school Uma Kumari unfurled the National Flag and took the salute of the march past while students of the school presented cultural programmes.
68th Republic Day was celebrated in GGHSS Jakh  wherein National Flag was hoisted by Principal Deepak Gupta in presence of staff members, students and others. After the flag hoisting,  sweets were distributed among the students.
Govt  High School Marh (Zone Dansal) Jammu,   celebrated  Republic Day with great pomp and  show.  The National Flag was hoisted by I/C Headmaster of the School and this was  followed by singing of National Anthem. The  VEC Members and  other prominent persons of the locality also attended the function. The students presented various cultural items.
Amid heavy snowfall, Republic  Day was celebrated in the premises of Govt HSS Chiralla with great enthusiasm and fervor. Block Development Officer Chiralla, Mohd Ashraf  unfurled the National Flag in presence of Niab Tehsildar Chiralla Ram Dass Sharma, Vice Principal of the institution,  Shamim Ahmad and I/C PP  Karara,  Mohd Sharief. Despite harsh weather condition, students from different schools took part in parade and presented cultural programme especially patriotic songs.
68th Republic Day was  celebrated with  pump and show at GMS Pind Narian,  located in a hilly and remoter area of Distt Rajouri. Despite heavy rain and lack of facilities in the school, the headmaster Savita Kumari, with the cooperation of all staff members, Panches, Sarpanch and prominent villagers, managed to organize the function in the school successfully. Besides, three other schools including GMS Pind, GPS Kallar and GPS Chowki Kotera also participated in the function.  The Sarpanch of the area Rtd Captain Jaswant Singh,   hoisted the national flag.
The Republic Day celebration was held in the premises of Govt Hr  Sec  School Budhi (Kathua), in which the Principal  Naresh Sharma hoisted the National flag. Despite heavy rainfall, students of Govt  HSS Budhi, R N Tagore Public School Budhi, RMC HSS Budhi, KG Public School Nagrota, Powen Jyot Public School Budhi and other surrounding schools participated in the function.
APS BD Bari celebrated the 68th Republic Day of India in all its solemnity and grandeur in the serene campus of the school. Col  V  Santhosh,  Deputy Commander APS BD Bari,  was the chief guest on the occasion while Deepa Santhosh was the venerated guest of honour. Chief guest hoisted National flag along with the Principal of the school, Neeta Rawal. It was then followed by a galore of vibrant cultural performances presented by the students of the school.
68th Republic Day was celebrated with festivities at  Boys Hr Sec  School Mendhar where hundreds  of people braving chilling weather conditions participated. The national flag was unfurled by SDM Mendhar,   Rahul Yadav  and SDPO Mendhar Shahid Nayeem, who latter inspected the parade. Contingents from Armed Police, NCC, Boys and Girls Higher Secondary School Mendhar and many other Government and private schools took part in march past. Cultural items were also presented by the students. Later prizes were distributed among all the participants.
Republic Day was celebrated with fervour and enthusiasm at Thannamandi despite heavy rain and snow.   The main function was organized at Govt Boys Model Higher secondary school Thannamandi ground in which around sixteen Govt as well as private schools of the town and adjoining areas participated in the national event.
The national flag was unfurled by  SDM  Thannamandi  Abdul Qayoom Mir who later took salute at the march past ceremony in which school students  and police contingents participated undaunted by the severe cold, heavy rain and snow. The students from different Govt. as well as private schools presented a colourful cultural programme on the themes of national unity.
Government Higher Secondary School  Jandrah celebrated Republic Day by organizing a function wherein MLC Ajatshatru Singh unfurled the National flag along with the Principal Sunil Nanda and Arpanch Anil Sharma. A number of schools from  the adjoining areas also participated in the function.
The 68th Republic Day was celebrated in the premises of Government High School Moud where Headmaster Yash Paul unfurled the National flag in the presence of staff members and students. On the occasion, sweets were distributed.
Government Higher Secondary School, Salmerhi, Udhampur, celebrated republic Day with patriotic fervour. Various Government and private school also participated in the function wherein  Principal HSS Salmerhi, Neeru Bala hoisted the National flag. Students took out march past and also presented various cultural items. Prizes were also distributed among the students.
Government High School, Mand, Udhampur celebrated 68th Republic Day and organized a function in this connection. On the occasion, ex-Sarpanch Mansa Ram hoisted the National flag. Students of six different schools participated in the programme and presented cultural items.
Republic Day was celebrated in the school complex of Govt  Girls Middle School, Chargal Mowali (Zone Gandhi Nagar),  with great enthusiasm. The Tri Colour was unfurled by the Headmaster of the School,  Ashok Kharyal, in the presence of all staff members. Village Education Members were also present on the occasion. Sweets were distributed among the students and cultural activities were also performed.
Government Girls Higher Secondary School Satwari celebrated the Republic Day with great joy and feeling of patriotism. The school principal hoisted the National flag.
Republic Day was celebrated at HSS Soham wherein Principal N P Singh hoisted the National flag. After march past, cultural items were presented by students of various Government and private schools, including MS Sohal, Oriental HS shoal, Vaishno Vidyaluya Sohal and HS Golden Star Sohal.
Republic Day celebrations were held at Govt Hr Sec School Barolla where students along with the staff  members and Principal,  hoisted the National Flag. On the occasion,  students were also enlightened about the important leaders and their contribution to make India a democratic  republic.
Republic Day was celebrated in Government Middle School railway Colony where the Headmaster Suresh Kumar Sharma hoisted the National flag in the presence of staff and students. Sweets were also distributed on the occasion.
Government Higher Secondary School, Chowki Choura, Akhnoor celebrated 68th Republic Day with great zeal. Gurmukh Singh, SDM was the chief guest who hoisted the National Flag and took salute, while Principal of the School presented vote of thanks.
Government Girls Higher Secondary School Satwari celebrated 68th Republic Day with patriotic fervour. Principal of the School unfurled the National Flag, while students sang National Anthem.
Government High School, Dhammi, Zone Dansal celebrated 68th Republic Day with enthusiasm in its school premises. Headmaster of the school hoisted the National Flag amid singing of National Anthem.
Government Middle School, Old Janipur, Jammu celebrated 68th Republic Day with enthusiasm and fervour in the School premises. Tri-colour was unfurled was Ex-Corporator, Deep Bharadwaj in presence of the In-charge of the School, Sunita Slathia.
Government Middle School, Nardani Nandwal celebrated 68th Republic Day with gusto. Sarpanch, Kuldeep Raj in presence of School In-charge and other staff members hoisted the National Flag.
Kendriya Vidyalaya Kathua celebrated 68th Republic Day with great enthusiasm in the School premises. The Officiating Principal of the School, Sushma Rani Gautam alongwith Rajinder Badkulia and Inder Paul hoisted the Tri-Colour amid singing of National Anthem.
KV No-1 Udhampur celebrated 68th Republic Day with lot of joy and happiness in its school premises. Col Sumeet Dua, Col Training HQ 71 Sub Area and Nominee Chairman of KV No-1 Udhampur was the chief guest on the occasion, who hoisted the National Flag amid chanting of National Anthem.
