Educational institutions celebrate ‘Gurupurab’ with fervour

JAMMU, Nov 3: Various educational institutions celebrated ‘Gurupurab’ with enthusiasm and religious fervour, here today.
Delhi Public School Jammu held special assembly to celebrate ‘Gurupurab’.
The assembly began with the floral tribute to Guru Nanak Dev Ji followed by the school prayer.
The students then presented a mesmerizing ‘Shabad Kirtan’, in praise and glory of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, which enchanted and soothed the soul of everyone.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra highlighted some qualities of the Sikhism worth emulating, such as truthfulness, thoughtfulness and tenacity. She also felicitated the winners of different Inter DPS and Inter District competitions.
Headmistress, Meenu Gupta also spoke on the occasion.
Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua celebrated Gurupurab by participating in Nagar Kirtan on the eve of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji’s birthday. Gurudwara Singh Sabha Dashmesh Nagar, Sawan Chak organized Nagar Kirtan. It was led by ‘Panj Piyaras’ followed by Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Thousands of Sikh devotees including school children participated. Principal Shuchita Gupta spoke on the occasion.
Kartar Public School, Barnoti celebrated Guru Nanak Jayanti today.
A special assembly was conducted to mark the occasion and bring home the relevance of the festival. The students’ depicted glimpses of the sacred life lived by Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The well presented enactment certainly enlightened the students about the solemnity of the festival. Chairman of the school, Er Nirmaljit Singh Amn and Principal Mamta Agarwal spoke on the occasion.
The Management, Faculty and small kids of VM International School, Ramgarh and Kidzee Playway School (Zee Learn Ltd) Ramgarh celebrated Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji in the school premises with religious fervour and gaiety. A special assembly was arranged in this connection, wherein Chairperson of the school, Anu Gupta enlightened the students about the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Rich Harvest School, Bari Brahmana celebrated Guru Purab by holding a special assembly. Rich tributes were paid by the students and the staff members. The young students of Rich Harvest dressed in colourful costumes performed a ‘Prabhat pheri’ much to the delight of all. Principal Anita Bhatia felicitated the students and staff members on the occasion.
Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, Jammu, celebrated Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s birth day with great fervour and religious gaiety under the supervision of Managing Director, Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, today. Davinder Kour, Principal, threw light on the life of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and inspired the students to follow the path of the Guru Ji adopting truth and secularism in their lives.
Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu keeping in view the secular ethos of the school celebrated Guruparab with mirth and vehemence in the school premises and the ambience of the school was filled with religiosity and piousness. The celebration began with special assembly in which the Sanskritians recited Paaths followed by Shabd Gayan. The celebrations were relinquished by the closing address of Principal cum Vice- Chairperson of the school, Rohini Aima who revealed the motive behind such celebration was to bring home the relevance of the festival to our young generation.
Keeping with the secular ethos of the school, the students of Stephens International Public School, Miran Sahib celebrated Gurpurab, one of the several auspicious religious festivals in Sikhism, to mark the Parkash Utsav of Guru Nanak Dev. The celebration began with the enlightened thought of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, highlighting the message of brotherhood as a tribute to the great Guru. Dignitaries who graced the occasion were Satvinder Saini, Director, Amarjeet Singh, Vice Chairman, Manoj K Agnihotri, Principal and Vikesh Sandhal Vice Principal SIPS.
Govt HSS Mandal Phallian today celebrated Parkash Utsav of Guru Nanak Dev Ji today. Various relevant activities were undertaken by students and staff with great enthusiasm under the guidance of J R Sharma, Principal of the school.
Students Shivani Bhagat and Priya Kunari and Lecturer Virender Jeet Kour presented a detailed sketch of life and teachings of great Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Sant Mela Singh College of Education organized a relevant symposium to celebrate ‘Gurupurab’ in the premises of College today. The programme started with the recitation of ‘Shabad’ by the students. Chairman of the College Anmol Singh was the chief guest on the occasion, while Dr Kiran Luthra, Principal highlighted the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Gurupurab-the birth anniversary of 1st Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji, was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety by the Calliope School Doomi.
On the occasion, a special assembly in the school premises was organized by teachers Seema and Komal of the Peace House. The programme started with recitation of Prayer by the students filling the whole atmosphere with peace and tranquility.
They also spoke on the significance of Gurupurab and teachings of Guru Nanak Dev.
