Educational institutions celebrate Dussehra

JAMMU, Oct 17: Various educational institutions celebrated Dussehra with religious fervour and enthusiasm.
DPS Udhampur celebrated Dussehra with much gusto and enthusiasm. On the occasion, the chief guest was MLA Udhampur Pawan Gupta and guest of honour was the Pro-Vice Chairman of DPS Udhampur Dr JC Gupta. The students presented Ram Leela, followed by burning the effigy of Ravana. Principal of the School Dr Kunal Anand and the staff members were also present on the occasion.
Students and staff of JP World School Jammu celebrated Dusshera festival with great enthusiasm and energy. On the occasion, students presented various items and also sung bhajans. Principal JS Hundal gave away gifts to toddlers to encourage their efforts.
To celebrate Dusshera festival, Ramayana was presented by the tiny tots of KC Gurukul Public School Paloura Jammu. The students enacted various scenes of the Ramayana. Anu Jandial, Academic Director of the school, staff members and the Management witnessed the show.
Stephens International Public School celebrated Dusshera festival. On the occasion, students presented various items including scene of ‘Mahishasur Vadh’, scenes of Ramayana, reciting of poems, singing of Ram-stuti and Bhajans. The mainstay of the celebration was the Pipping ceremony in which ANO Gautam Sharma was honoured by the school Director Satvinder Saini and Manoj Agnihotri, Principal of the school as NCC 3rd Officer. Amarjeet Singh, Vice Chairman, Rama Jamwal, Dean Academics and Inderjeet Kour, Headmistress also graced the occasion.
Minerva Public School Kathua celebrated Dussehra festival. Various activities were part of the celebration including Durga Vandana, Ram-Leela Act, etc. Students gave lively performances with the help of their teachers. Principal Sheetal Sharma threw light on the importance of the day.
Maha Navmi and Dussehra festivals were celebrated at Dewan Devi Higher Secondary School, Rajpura Mangotrian Jammu. The children of the Play Way Wing were dressed up beautifully as Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshaman and Hanuman. Principal of the Primary Wing Krishna Suri informed the children about the cultural significance of this festival.
Mount Litera Zee School, Anand Nagar, Bohri, Jammu and its junior wing Kidzee celebrated “Maha Navmi and Dussehra” in the presence of Chairman Er Parneesh Mahajan, Liaison Officer Harvinder Singh Sihotra, Principal Manikarnika Bhasin, Coordinator Radhika Mahajan, staff and students. The function started with special assembly in which students and staff delivered speeches related to “Maha Navmi and Dussehra”. A conceptual skit was presented by students in which they focused on victory of good over evil.
KIDZEE celebrated Dussehra at its branches in Gandhi Nagar, Channi Himmat and Talab Tillo. The function started with the special assembly in which teachers and students delivered speeches related to the importance of the day. ‘Dandia Raas’–a traditional folk dance was also performed by kids of school. Coordinators of the schools were also present on the occasion.
