Educational institutions celebrate 67th Republic Day with patriotic fervour

JAMMU, Jan 27: 67th Independence Day was celebrated today with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor by various educational institutions throughout the Jammu region.
The Republic Day was celebrated today with great zeal at University of Jammu (JU). Prof RD Sharma, Vice Chancellor, unfurled the National Flag at the Fountain Plaza and released the tri-colour balloons. He also paid rich tribute to the soldiers who laid their life while protecting the citizens and also underscored the contributions and the supreme sacrifices of the freedom fighters. The cultural items were presented by the students. A yoga presentation was also given by some students. A huge gathering of teaching faculty, officers, staff and students of the University attended the function.
On the occasion of 67th Republic Day, Prof Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, Central University of Jammu (CUJ) unfurled the National Flag at the Administrative Block in Baghala, Samba and
Temporary Academic Block (TAB), Sainik Colony, Jammu. While addressing the academic fraternity, non-teaching member and students of the University to focus on the accountability and responsibility of each individual which is much needed for the growth of the university. Various events were organized on the occasion but the center of attraction was the Republic Day parade by NSS volunteers.
The Republic Day was also celebrated in Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri in front of VC Secretariat. The ceremony was attended by Deans, Officers and other staff of the University. In his message, Prof Javed Musarrat, Vice Chancellor, BGSBU recalled the patriotic history of the Country and called upon the youth to follow the ideals established by the Nationalists.
In observance with the 67th Republic Day of India, an imposing and colorful function was held in the premises of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU). VC, Prof SK Jain unfurled the tricolor at the Inauguration Pavilion. It was followed by skits, patriotic songs, poetry and group dance by the students. Thereafter, various events like Essay writing competition, Poster Making competition and Workshop on Constitution of India were organized.
A function in connection with Republic Day was organized at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu). Prof RM Bhagat, Dean Faculty of Agriculture, unfurled the National Flag at main campus Chatha. Besides, all the statutory officers, HoDs, faculty members of varsity, the function was also attended by Dr TA Ganai (Director Education), Dr JP Sharma (Director Research), Iqbal Singh and Dr BB Gupta (Registrar).
Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM), Canal Road, Jammu celebrated Republic Day by organizing a function in main lawn of the Institute. Chief guest, Dr Ram A Vishwakarma, Director of Institute, unfurled the Tricolour and took salute at the ceremonial march past by the security men of CSIR-IIIM and the students of Regional Research Laboratory High School. It was followed by presentation of cultural items including patriotic songs, dances and skits on freedom movement.
A function was also organized to celebrate Republic Day at Indira Gandhi Government Dental College, Jammu. Principal of the College, Dr Ramesh Singh unfurled the National Flag in the presence of Superintendent, Dr Sunita Puri and other staff members. The sweets were distributed among the gathering.
67th Republic Day was celebrated with great pomp and show in Swami Vishwatma Nand Sarswati Degree College, Kathua. Principal of the College, Prof RL Sharma, hoisted the National Flag. This was followed by National Anthem and presentation of cultural items. Chief guest on the occasion was Prof PN Koul, Principal GGDJ College of Education.
Dogra Group of Educational Institutions celebrated Republic Day with great zeal and fervor in its campus at Bari-Brahmana. Gulchain Singh Charak, chairman, Dogra Educational Trust and former Minister, hoisted the National Flag and remembered all those guarding the Indian frontiers. Some students shared their views on Republic Day.
Vishwa Bharati College of Education celebrated Republic Day with gaiety and fervour. The programme started with lighting of traditional lamp by the Principal Prof Suneeta Kampassi. The students performed colourful programme. A documentary on India’s Independence struggle and aftermath of its progress, dances, songs and speeches marked the day. JL Kaul was the chief guest on the occasion.
Management of Vinayak Institute of Nursing & Paramedical Sciences, Kunjwani Campus celebrated 67th Rupublic Day in its premises. The function started with National Anthem in which members of Managing Committee, staff and students of the Institute participated. Chairman of Institute, Amardeep Singh, Managing Director, Dr Rakesh and Jasmeet Kour, Managing Trustee, were also present. A colourful cultural programme was also presented by the students.
The teachers and management of NSM College of Education celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm. Parneesh Mahajan, secretary, NSM Group of Institutions, in his speech, threw light on Independence struggle of India. Also present on the occasion were Principal of the College, Dr Suman Thussu and staff members.
Republic Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervor at Gandhi Memorial College of Education, Raipur, Bantalab, Jammu.AK Raina, general secretary, HESK and VK Raina, member, HESK, along with Principal, GMCEJ, Prof HL Misri, unfurled the Tricolour. It was followed by National Anthem. A cultural bonaza was also presented by the students.
The Republic Day was celebrated with great fervor at Government Polytechnic, Bikram Chowk, Jammu. Principal, Ritu Jamwal, hoisted the National Flag along with the faculty, staff and students of the Institute. The National Anthem was sung by all the participants and sweets were distributed among them.
KC International School celebrated Republic Day with full zeal and enthusiasm. The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity. To mark the importance of this day a special assembly was held in the school and many activities were conducted. An inter house Dance competition with the theme of patriotism organized in solo and group category. Principal, Maya Mishra, greeted everyone on this occasion.
67th Republic Day was celebrated at KC Gurukul Public School Paloura with great zeal and enthusiasm. The patriotic songs filled all present with a deep feeling of patriotism. The toddlers of the school presented a dance performance on the song ‘Sabse Aage Hindustani’. Children also presented Republic Day Parade. Chairman of the school, Arvind Mahajan, took salute at the march past. Academic Director, Vijay Puri also addressed the students. The function came to end with the singing of the National Anthem.
On 67th Republic Day, a colourful function was organized at Delhi Public School, Jammu. Principal, Ruchi Chabra, Headmistress, Meenu Gupta and members of administration were present on the occasion. Many cultural programmes were presented by the students. The function began with the singing of the National song ‘Vande Matram’ followed by a brief speech on the importance of Day by a senior student. MK Ajatshatru Singh, president, RCT Jammu, Ritu Singh, Pro- vice chairperson of the school, SS Sodhi, Director DPS Jammu, were also present.
The day was also celebrated at Delhi Public School, Udhampur. The function began with the unfurling of the tricolor flag by Dr JC Gupta Chairman (LMC) of the school. After that a cultural program was performed by the students. Vivek Gupta, MD of the school, Yogeshwari Rathore, Principal and Sucheta Gupta, Vice-Principal, were also present.
The exuberant students of Jodhamal Public School presented a patriotic extravaganza to celebrate 67th Republic Day in the school. Colonel Kapil Dev Kaushal, Principal, Sainik School Nagrota, was the chief guest. The function started with the unfurling of the National Flag followed by singing of National Anthem. The Jodhamal Scouts and Guides presented a synchronized March Past giving a flavor of patriotism. The toddlers, dressed up in tri-colour attires, were the highlight saluting and enchanting Vande Mataram. Principal, Trilok Singh was also present.
KC Gurukul Public School, Jakhar (Udhampur) celebrated Republic Day with enthusiasm. Children presented a colorful program and sang patriotic songs. Children also spoke about Dr BR Ambedkar, who drafted the Indian Constitution. They pledged to obey the laws and principles of constitution and serve the country. Principal of the school, Sagar Bannerjee, wished the students and their parents a happy Republic Day.
To celebrate Republic Day, Model Academy organized an interactive session for class 9th and 10th.A display board competition was also organized in both branches of the school. Maj Gen SK Sharma, former Principal, MIET, Jammu was the guest speaker for the interaction. The students posed him interesting questions and clarified their doubts.
Stephens International Public School celebrated 67th Republic Day with great pomp and show. The chief guest, Kamal Saini, (IGP Retd) unfurled the National Flag. To mark the Day, Inter House Patriotic Song Competition was held. First position was bagged by Wisdom House and second position by Joy House. Winners were honored with the trophies.
SM Shishu Niketan Higher Secondary School, Anand Nagar, Jammu celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm. Managing Director, Parneesh Mahajan, Harvinder Singh hoisted the National flag. He also threw light on the importance of the day. The students actively participated in dance and drill and also delivered speeches on different National personalities. The programme concluded with the National Anthem distribution of sweets among the students.
Dogra Higher Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, Jammu celebrated the Republic Day with great patriotic fervor and gaiety. Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, MD of the school hoisted the Tricolor. Various cultural items were presented by the students on the occasion. The students also presented small skits and patriotic items. In the end, the sweets and flags were distributed among the students.
Rich Harvest School, Shastrinagar, celebrated Republic Day by organizing a colourful function in its premises. Principal, of the school, Rasvinder Kour hoisted the National flag followed by singing of National Anthem by the students. The students also participated in various activities like flag making, thumb printing, paper pasting by using colours of Tricolour. In the end, sweets were distributed among the students.
The 67th Republic Day was celebrated with grandeur at Rich Harvest School, Bari Brahmana. The students saluted the National flag and pledged to uphold the honour and integrity of India. The students sang patriotic songs and presented various cultural programmes. Trustee, Ruchi Charak and Principal, Anita Bhatia, were also present. The function culminated with national Anthem.
Mahavir Jain Higher Secondary School, Jammu celebrated Republic Day with great zeal. Tricolour was unfurled by President, Jain Educational Trust, Sunil Jain along with general secretary, Ramneek Jain. The students presented a captivating cultural bonaza on patriotism. Principal, Suresh Gupta distributed sweets among the students.
Wonder World School, Trikuta Nagar and Gandhi Nagar celebrated 67th Republic Day with echoing patriotic songs and performing activities to celebrate the spirit of unity and mark the remembrance of Martyrs. The founder of the school, Gitanjali Mahajan laid emphasis in explaining the kids the importance in a simple yet elaborate manner. The children went home with a feeling of unity and hearts filled with patriotism.
Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm. Principal, Shuchita Gupta, hoisted the National Flag. The students presented poems, dances and skits dedicated to freedom fighters. The toddlers of the school performed on the song ‘Sabse Aage Honge Hindustani’. Vishwa Bharati Public Higher Secondary School, Akalpur Morh, Jammu celebrated 67th Republic Day” with patriotic fervour. The programme commenced with “Bharat Vandana” followed by address of Principal, Prof Annapurna Koul. The students presented various colourful acts and dances. Some students also delivered speeches on Republic Day. A skit comprising the events of Pre-Independence India and Post Independence India was also shown.
JK Montessorie Senior Secondary School and its affiliated unit, JK Little Millennium International School celebrated Republic Day in the school premises by putting up a brief cultural show comprising different patriotic speeches, patriotic group songs, poems and patriotic dances in a special assembly by the pre-primary and primary wing of the school. Managing Director of school, Sanjeev Gupta, unfurled the Tricolour. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
A function was also organized at Mother Teresa Convent Higher Secondary School, Dramni, to celebrate Republic Day. Chief guest, Dr Nirmal Singh, former Deputy Chief Minister of the State, unfurled the National Flag. He also paid tributes to the martyrs of freedom movement and to the architects of the Indian constitution.
Brig Khudabaksh Memorial Public Higher Secondary School celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm. Principal as well as some teachers spoke on the importance of the Day. The students presented various cultural items and sang patriotic songs.
NITL Higher Secondary School, Udhampur, celebrated Republic Day with great pomp and show. Ajay Gupta, Principal, unfurled the national Flag followed by national Anthem. He also briefed the students about the importance of the Day.
67th Republic Day was also celebrated at Hee Maa Public Higher Secondary School, Jagti (Nagrota). Dr Mustafa Kamaal, Additional general secretary, National Conference, was the chief guest. He unfurled the National Flag. Roshan Lal Bhat, chairman of the school, Sanjni Bhat, Principal, MK Yogi, were also present.
Hanifa School, Borsad celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm at Fazlani International Cricket Academy, Borsad. The events held on the occasion include hoisting of Tricolour, March Past and singing of National Anthem. The celebration was marked by stupendous performance of the students on Taekwondo and Lathi display. In the end, sweets were distributed among the students.
Raina Higher Secondary School, Paloura, Jammu celebrated Republic Day by organizing colourful activities. J&K Samaj Kalyan Kendra Higher Secondary School for Hearing & Speech Handicapped Boys and Girls celebrated 67th Republic Day in the School premises with great enthusiasm and gaiety. 67th Republic Day was celebrated at GHSS G hordi with enthusiasm today. He unfurled the National flag and took salute at the march passed from schools students. This was followed by cultural programme.
Sai Shyam Public School along with College of Education, Ghou-Manhasan, Jammu celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm in the school premises. CL Tickoo, Chairman of the Institution, unfurled the National-Flag and took salute on the march past presented by the students. Principal of the school, Anita Raina, spoke on the importance of the Day.
Crescent Public School, Janipur celebrated 67th Republic Day with patriotic fervor. Tasneem Choudhary, Managing Director and Alpna Dhar, Co-ordinator unfurled the Tricolour. The students sang patriotic songs and presented various cultural items. In the end, sweets were distributed among the students.
67th Republic Day was celebrated in the premises of BSF School, Paloura, Jammu with enthusiasm and fervor. Rakesh Sharma, IG BSF Jammu FTR, unfurled the Tricolour. Pratibha Sharma, First lady BSF, was the guest of honor. Celebration began with group dance by tiny tots followed by speeches by senior students. On the occasion, six best teachers of the school were honoured.
Army Public School, Udhampur today organized a colourful programme on the eve of Republic Day. The event started with NCC parade. The students of various classes spoke about the importance of Republic Day. Thereafter, they presented a cultural programme depicting the importance of occasion. Principal, Sanjeev Kumar, distributed sweets among the participants.
Dewan Badri Nath, Amarvilla celebrated 67th Republic Day by organizing Inter-House Patriotic group song competition. Students of all the four houses i.e, Vivekananda, Tagore, Radhakrishna, and Bose House participated with great fervour and spirit of patriotism. Principal of the school unfurled the National Flag and gave away prizes to the winners.
Republic Day was celebrated with great fervor in MNKG Montessori Public High School, Gandhi Nagar. The National Flag was hoisted by the chairman of the school, Rabinder Singh amidst chanting of National Anthem by the staff and students. Various students spoke about the significance of the Day. Patriotic songs and dances were also performed. Sweets were distributed amongst the children.
The staff and management of RM Public School and RM College celebrated Republic Day with great fervor. Rita Mengi, Trustee of RM Public School, hoisted the Tricolour. PK Dhar, Principal, RM College and Ravinder Kour, Principal, RM Public School, presided over the function.
Guru Harikrishan Public School, Guru Nanak Nagar, Jammu, celebrated Republic Day in its premises. The Tricolour was hoisted by Principal, Rita Popli. Thereafter, National Anthem was sung by the students as well as staff members. The celebration also marked patriotic songs and cultural programmes.
KNIT Green Model Academy, Sangrampur, Jammu, celebrated Republic Day with enthusiasm and gaiety. Chief guest, JL Kotwal, chairman of the Academy, unfurled the National Flag, which was followed by National Anthem, march past and cultural activities.
In connection with Republic Day, a function was also organized at Pine World School, Sabra. In a glittering ceremony, the Tricolour was unfurled by Commander, BG Bde and the National Anthem was played which was followed by march past, cultural events by school students and powerful performance of Martial Arts by the Mendhar Battalion. In the end, the chief guest presented gifts to all the teachers and students of the school.
The day was also celebrated at Model Academy, Sagra in Mendhar tehsil of Rajouri, where in an impressive ceremony the National Flag was unfurled by Commander, Krishna Ghati Brigade. This was followed by a cultural programme by students from various schools of the area. The Tricolour was also unfurled at Government Middle School, Dehri by Second-in-Command, Mendhar Battalion.
At Sunrise Public School, Channi Himmat, National Social Group celebrated organized a function to celebrate 67th Republic Day. All students, teachers as well as members of the National Social Group were present on the occasion. The National Flag was unfurled by Dr Lovi Padha, Professor of Orthopedics, with the school band playing the National Anthem.
GLS Public School, Talab Tillo organized a French Language workshop to commemorate the Republic Day and celebrate Indo-French friendship. The workshop was organized in collaboration with French Club, Jammu. Patriotic songs and National Anthem were sung to mark the occasion and give a message of peace and brotherhood.
Luthra Public School, Shemrock Angels Talab Tillo, Luthra Higher Secondary School and Shemrock Icons, Kacchi Chawani celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm. Cultural items were presented by the students on the occasion. A quiz competition was also organized and prizes were distributed among the students. Principal, Sanjeev Luthra, unfurled the National Flag.
A function to celebrate Republic Day was also organized by Vidya Jyoti Model High School, Janipur. Chairman of the school, JR Vaid, unfurled the National Flag. The students presented patriotic songs and sang National Anthem. The function culminated with distribution of sweets among the students.
The celebrations of Republic Day started at Alexander Memorial School, Jammu with unfurling of National Flag by the Principal, Esther William. This was followed by National Anthem sung by students as well as staff members. The school choir presented some patriotic songs in their melodious tune befitting the occasion. The celebration concluded with distribution of sweets among the students.
Aroma Foundation Public School, Lower Roop Nagar, Jammu celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm in the school premises. Principal, Rajni Sharma unfurled the National-Flag and took salute on the march past presented by the students. Vice-principal, Kamal Sharma spoke on the importance of the Day. Various cultural items were also presented by the students.
Republic Day was also celebrated both at May Fair School, Chand Nagar and Janipur. The chief guest, Vijay Basur, chairman of the schools, unfurled the National Flag in both the schools. Principal, Ranjeet Kour presided over the programme. The students presented cultural items and sang patriotic songs. National Anthem was also sung by the students.
The Republic Day was also celebrated by SD Tara Puri Public High School, Jammu with various teachers and students threw light on the importance of the Day. The students dressed in attire of various freedom fighters sang patriotic songs. Principal, Neeru Puri, unfurled the National Flag.
Government Boys High School, Vijaypur celebrated the Day. Madan Lal Sharma, Headmaster hoisted the Flag in presence of staff members.
Govt High School Marh, Zone Dansal, Jammu celebrated 67th Republic Day with pomp and show in the School premises. The National Flag was hoisted by Noor Mohd, Sarpanch, while Headmaster of the School, VEC members and other prominent persons of the locality were present on the occasion.

Government Girls High School Pallanwala celebrated the 67th Republic Day with great enthusiasm and fervour in the School premises today. Headmaster Balwan Singh Bhau unfurled the National Flag and threw light on the importance of the day. Sweets were distributed among the students on the occasion.

The Headmaster of the School, Ved Prakash hoisted the National Flag amidst the chanting of National Anthem.
