JAMMU, Jan 14:   Strongly flaying the Education Minister,  Altaf Bukhari’s outbursts against the Army chief for the sensational disclosures made by the latter regarding acts of sedition in Kashmir schools, Harsh Dev Singh, chairman JKNPP and former Minister has described the statement of the Minister as highly reprehensible and unfortunate. He said that the Army chief is a non political authority whose findings and views needed to be taken due cognizance by the concerned authorities.
He said that if the Army chief, based on his inputs and in all his wisdom had made a statement regarding distortion of maps of the State and the Indian Union in certain Kashmir schools, the same deserved the cognizance of the Education Department followed by appropriate corrective measures. He regretted that rather than doing so, the Education Minister chose to attack the Army chief describing his intervention as unwarranted.
Harsh Dev who was addressing a press conference here, today lambasted the Education Minister for his highly opprobrious conduct.  Singh said that his statement has had the effect of emboldening the separatist forces across the Kashmir valley besides embarrassing the armed forces. He said that such virulent outbursts against the Army were highly condemnable and totally unacceptable adding further that the Education Minister must apologize for his conduct. Seeking a probe into the inputs of anti-national and separatist agenda being promoted in Kashmir, Singh questioned the criminal silence of the ‘nationalist’ BJP over the issue. The Saffron Party had not only failed to comment upon the use of schools for radicalization and promotion of separatist ideology but remained mute spectator when the Minister concerned in its Government was condemning the Army chief.
He said that humiliation of Army in the Saffron flavoured Government had amply proved that the BJP had sunk beyond salvage.
Lampooning the BJP for its opportunist duplicitous character, Singh said that earlier also it had failed to effectively confront the PDP MLA who compared the slain militants with martyrs and described them as brothers. Likewise none of the BJP members could counter the CM Mehbooba Mufti who crossed the rubicon in the Legislature by her egregious statement calling for a common currency for SAARC nations in conformity with the self rule slogan of PDP.
Gagan Pratap Singh State secretary, JKNPP was also present in the press conference.
