Edu institutions to remain closed in Jammu, Kathua

JAMMU, Feb 15: Due to the prevailing law and order situation, Divisional Commissioner Jammu has ordered closure of all the educational institutions in Jammu district on February 16.
The Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma told the Excelsior that all Government as well private educational institutions across Jammu district shall remain closed tomorrow in view of the prevailing law and order situation.
However, decision with regard to educational institutions in the other districts, shall be taken by the concerned Deputy Commissioners.
Educational institutions in Kathua district will also remain closed tomorrow, DC Kathua Rohit Khajuria said.
Meanwhile, Jammu University has also ordered postponement of all its examinations, which were scheduled to be held on February 16.
According to a spokesperson of JU, all the university examinations, scheduled to be held on February 16, 2019 (Saturday) stand postponed due to unavoidable circumstances. Fresh date of the postponed examinations shall be notified later on, the spokesperson added.
Pertinent to mention here that all the JU exams, which were scheduled to be held today, were also postponed by the university in the wake of call for Jammu bandh following terror attack on CRPF convoy in Pulwama yesterday.
Educational institutions within Municipal limits of Poonch will also remain closed tomorrow.
