EDBRA’s concern over stoppage of terminal benefits to retirees

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Mar 30: ED Bank Retirees’ Association (EDBRA) today expressed serious concern over the stoppage of terminal benefits to retiring employees of the bank under the unique pattern of chargesheeting them few days before their superannuation.
The issue was discussed in a executive body meeting of the association held on Wednesday. The association said that such action on the part of the management of the bank renders retiring employees virtually penniless on the exit from the bank, besides causing damage to their social reputation.
Condemning such foul play by the management, the meeting appealed the concerned authorities including central Government, SBI and NABARD to order high level probe in the working of the banks over the last two-year period with specific reference to issues of retiring/retired employees and order release of pending dues of the already retired employees.
