JAMMU, Apr 21: ED-III and ED-I registered convincing victories in the ongoing 2nd PDD Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament, being played at Green Field ground, here.
In the first match, ED-III defeated ED-II by 4 wickets. Bating first, ED-II scored 166 runs in 20 overs. Varinder and Mukesh contributed 32 and 31 runs to the total respectively. For ED-III, Dalbir took 4 important wickets and Suresh claimed 2 wickets.
In reply, ED-III chased the target in 17.1 overs. Jatinder top scored with quick-fire 70 runs. Naresh took 4 wickets from ED-II. Jatinder was declared as the man of the match and best batsman, while Balbir was adjudged as the best bowler.
In another match, ED-I trounced Udhampur Engineers by 6 wickets. Batting first, Udhampur Engineers scored 209 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Vikas scored 112 runs, while Rohit contributed 39 runs to the total. For ED-I, Amit Gupta tokk 4 wickets, while Aman bagged 2 wickets.
In reply, ED-I chased the target in 18.1 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Harish top scored with 66 runs, while Vishal made 52 and Amit Gupta contributed unbeaten 34 runs. For Udhampur Engineers, Munish took 2 wickets. Amit Gupta was declared as the man of the match and best bowler, while Vikas was adjudged as the best batsman.
The matches were officiated by Ashok Singh and Madan Mohan as umpires, while Rajeev Gupta was the scorer.
