E-governance right initiative to ensure prompt service delivery: Tanvir

Srinagar, Jan 21: Reiterating that e-governance will remove red-tapism and bring a revolutionary turnaround in the system, Political Secretary to the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Tanvir Sadiq today said that this is one of the best ways to bring transparency and responsiveness in the administration and to attend the needs of people on development and other counts.
Interacting with a deputation of ALAMDAR Software Technology and Engineering led by team leader Khalid Yaqoob at the CM’s private office, Tanvir said “Omar Abdullah Government’s focus on IT sector is yielding encouraging results and the process of change in the functioning of Government Departments, through IT initiatives and e-governance measures would bring revolutionary turnaround in the system.
While assuring them that their ‘Run book automation proposal for securely automating existing e-governance system’ will be taken up with the IT Minister, the Political Secretary said that Government respects and constantly encourages the talent of the state. He assured them that their project will be sent to the concerned department for consideration.
Talking to a student delegation from Srinagar, the Political Secretary said that young educated people should seek employment in private sector inside and outside the state.
The Political Secretary asked the young students to get fully acquainted with the initiatives of Udaan and Himayat programmes sponsored exclusively in the state by the Union Government to create job opportunities for the educated youth of the state in private sector all across the country.
Meanwhile, hundreds of individuals and delegations including consolidated Safiawalas Association, Shikara Association Dal Lake, students of SSM College of Engineering, Pesticides Distributors and Dealers Association also visited the CM’s private office and highlighted their problems.
