SAMBA, Sept 17: District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Samba, Sunil Kumar inaugurated Inter District Division Level Under-19 Boys Super Seven Cricket Tournament at Maharaja Suchet Singh Stadium, here.
The boys’ final match was won by District Jammu defeating District Kathua in a close contest.
Batting first, Kathua scored 58 runs in the stipulated 6 overs. Naresh Kumar and Shuvam contributed 11 and 9 runs respectively. For Jammu District, Aryan took 2 wickets.
In reply, District Jammu achieved the target of 59 runs in a thrilling fashion on the last ball of the match. Shubam top scored with 29 runs in just 9 balls.
Earlier, in District Kathua beat District Samba by 12 runs, while Jammu drubbed Poonch by 6 wickets .
The matches were officiated by Chander Parkesh, Dhanraj Singh, Sandeep Singh, Daljeet Singh, Amit, Rakesh Charak and Deeraj Jamwal.
