JAMMU, July 21: Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Lakhanpur Gourav Gupta today conducted extensive tour of Lakhanpur, the gateway to Jammu and Kashmir to check facilities for Shri Amarnath Ji pilgrims and ensure that they were not overcharged by the shopkeepers including eatable points.
Accompanied by other police officials, Gupta visited Reception Centre for Amarnath Ji yatra and enquired from the pilgrims about the facilities. He visited various shops including eatables, Chemists etc to examine that the pilgrims as well as other people were not overcharged by the shopkeepers.
He directed the eatable points to maintain hygienic conditions in and around their premises.
The DySP Lakhanpur issued strict instructions to police officials to ensure that there were no traffic jams at the gateway of Jammu and Kashmir.
Some beggars at Lakhanpur were also removed from the area.
